Easy Fire

All the reference images are thumbnailed.



Create a new file (or layer, whatever floats your boat). Make sure your foreground and background colours are set to default (Black and white)

Fill the layer with black with the Paint Bucket tool



Draw a thick white line at about the middle of your file.



Choose the smudge tool and smudge the white line so it looks like flames



After you're done you can add colour to your fire by Image> Adjustments> Hue/Saturation. (CTRL+U) . Make sure you tick 'Colourise' Now play with the Hue and Saturation scrolls as much as you like to get the colour you want.
