My name is Theresa Eleanor and my favorite number is 23. It is all the fault of the movie The Number 23. I now make a habit, when my brain is in a mathy mood, to add up license plates into 23. I once even got my name to almost total; it was 22,75. I was so proud. I am not crazy enough were I have found 23 everywhere, but if one looks, it is surprising where one can find it. What is really nice is numbers can total 32 or 5, and it is just as valuable as finding 23, as 32 is the reverse and 5 is the total of the digits. Sweet, eh?
My hobbies currently include
surfing the net (I love my online comics and random factoids),
going on AIM (I talk with [claka bloahs
] a lot),
reading (not a lot recently due to lack of time and I cannot find the right book, which is unfortunate),
Robotics (I program in C the "brain" on autonomous robots for my school's club. It be sweet, yo)
playing Guild Wars. I have been playing Guild Wars a LOT, recently. I think it is because of my attractive looking characters; one knows a game is good when the characters look pretty, and boy do mine. (character names are Dahgny Reh and Klara Eis, so join me anyone else who plays, not that anyone else will look at this..as my friends do not play...)
Linux (it is a hobby! and much better than Microsoft! I am in the process of switching to Fedora Core 8...last Fedora I had was 3. I will be so lost...) I already downloaded it, and it is great! Only problem is the wireless, which is a little finicky, but I am looking into getting another receiver, so that should help, or we will drill a whole in the wall.
We did drill a hole in the wall, and now I have a hub out of my room, awesome! much faster than wireless, though I still use that. Instead of Fedora 8, I am actually using Ubuntu Hardy (8) and the artist suite. I am reminded of all the things I love about Linux: the kernel, the interface, the awesomeness! (these are all still relevant in Ubuntu as in Fedora)
In my spare time I also do crafty things. The other day I made a corset out of random fabric and a old polo shirt. The website instructibles.com is God, and can teach one anything. I also make hats out of duct tape and purses out of hemp. Did you know hemp is really good for the environment? It needs no pesticides to grow and can be made into many strong materials. Also, it does not make one high, so stop thinking it is so bad United States government!! Past Presidents kept hemp as a crop and it was mandatory for people to grow it during economic hard times! (y'know...like now is...*hint hint*)
So, I have recently joined the many people who download manga and anime from then net, and finding it to be a most enjoyable pass time! I personally have been enjoying random manga, Ranma 1/2, Trigun, GTO! and am trying to translate Candidate for Goddess from German..but my German is not so good. It is pretty simple phrases though, so I do understand a lot.
Lists (they keep me happy :D)
Juli (awesome German band whose CDs I cannot afford to buy)
R.E.M. (mellow, awesome, from southern US so they have slight accents) (I love their lyrics and am currently obsessed with the song Boy in a Well)
Queen (before the death of Freddie Mercury. The new lead singer is not as good)
The Black Book (the story takes place in Hebrew, Dutch, German and English. Totally awesome and seemlessly transitioned)
The Number 23 (quality is not as good, but I love the concept, and the twist!)
The Mists of Avalon (I can read this over and over, although it is big, so that takes a while)
The Gypsy Rizka (loved this book as a kid)
Kurt Vonnegut (he is so cool. I read a bunch of his books right after he died, so they all blend in my head, but that is just inspiration to reread them!)
George Orwell (I need to read more of his stuff, but what I have read is pretty good)
If I were interesting enough for quotes, they would go here:
I wish I could do that, touch my nose with my tongue. I find it to be a very special (and awesome!) talent/ability.
