2007-08-23 [Fearathress]: omg they are good.. *moves with the music*
2007-08-23 [Melocrie]: Hell yea they are! :D Their songs can put you into different moods... but all good moods. ^^
2007-08-23 [Fearathress]: Aye. I will have to get dad to get me the cd.
2007-08-23 [Melocrie]: Yay!:D You won't regret it girl, I promise ^^
2007-08-23 [Fearathress]: I am sure I won't. God this music reminds me why I want to leave america and come live in ireland or germany. The music is still rich with culutre. THe stuff we don't get over here. But though the small lullabyes we were sung when we were little.
2007-08-23 [Melocrie]: Yea, I know what you mean. If Omnia hadn't been here in Holland, I would probably have left too, but in search for other Pagans. Their music changes life, you know. Well.. they themselves do. You know, you should go to their website and read some of their old blogs. Then you'll get an idea of what they are like :)
And why not leave America one day? I'm sure it would finally give you some peace that you deserve...
2007-08-23 [Fearathress]: Aye. Though leaving family behinde is another matter, for i dont know my fammily everywhere else. What is teh website?
2007-08-23 [Melocrie]: I guess you need to give some things up for happiness... Though leaving family and friends behind actually makes you less happy. I'm familiar with the dilemma.
2007-08-23 [Mortified Penguin]: Dude, man... America rules.
2007-08-23 [Fearathress]: -Nods her head-
2007-08-24 [Melocrie]: Oh yea, they rock so hard xD
Wanna help spread the word? Or else buy a CD? :P
2007-08-27 [Jitter]: I will buy something when my mum gives me an ok to use her credit card xD (I should get one of my own doh.. )
Witchesbrew& The Well are becoming 2 of my favourite songs in general ^^
PS- I just noticed they don't use credit card ^^'' oh man I have to go to the bank to order ;_; xD
By the way: http://taurina
2007-08-27 [Jitter]: thanks! I'll check when I'm on from the pc cause I have set my psp not to load images
2007-08-27 [Kuruni]: Yay! i can see that Omnia's magic is already spreading all over the place!
I'm so happy i can be consider a friend of them, so of course i can recommend them more than just a Fan, so go ahead and listen all you want! i have some clips in my deviant account if someone wish to see them, also of Faun, the other band that play together with Omnia and the other way around.
I hope that some people take the chance to go to Castlefest next year, it is tough yes, but well worth it.
By the way, Jenny of Omnia is Alan Lee's niece ;)
2007-08-27 [Jitter]: :D Someday....Som
2007-08-27 [Melocrie]: @ Kuruni: Jenny is Alan Lee's niece?? 0_o So that's how they got to contact him for the art xD And btw, I think Omnia considers every fan as a friend ;) I've had long talks with them a few times.. they're amazing.
@ Jitterbug Perfume: why won't you try to come next year? if that can be managed with the baby of course ^^
2007-08-27 [Jitter]: Yeah it will be hard with the baby :) But Lif says we will definately come at some point ^^ all 3 of us :D
2007-08-27 [Melocrie]: w00t! ^^ Until then, you can enjoy Omnia on CD xD
2007-08-27 [Fearathress]: yea yea yea.. just cuz u dont like the music dont mean you can dis them.
2007-08-28 [Fearathress]: Yea yea yea.. anyway.
2007-08-28 [Jitter]: I might have given you some justice Penguin if you suggested some not greatly overused and over-boring groups that played music that's not so carefully factored
By the way I found some Faun music in a CD a friend had sent me (mp3 *rolls eyes* what can we do) and they're good too. More.. uhm.. wild is not the right word... They sound less folk and more pagan than Omnia(not meaning this in a bad way). I might use the word ritualistic... It's morning I'm bad with words now -.-
Maybe one of you can help me xD
2007-08-28 [Melocrie]: I've deleted the Penguin's useless comments. So let's move on ^^
I think ritualistic is the right word :) Though I do like Omnia better for some reason, more energetic maybe... Faun is also a bit more melodic, I like them too ^^
2007-08-28 [Jitter]: Yeah I like Omnia better too :) More my style :D Closer to those Irish folk things I used to hear :D I think the best word would be shamanic maybe. (Or I'm playing too much WoW on a shaman xD)
2007-08-28 [Fearathress]: XD.. WoW can do that for you. Omnia is the closest thing that I have heared that remindes me of the old songs that were sung in my family.
2007-08-29 [Kuruni]: I cannot decide who is better, i like them both.
I just feel more drawn to Faun because of personal reasons and a strong friendship with one of the members and his girlfriend, but i must say that Omnia has something that Faun does not have and i think that Omnia can raise the dead and make them dance. Lots of energy.
Faun can uplift the spirit and really make you fall in love with the songs.
If i had to put them in a fantasy world, Omnia would be the goblins, halflings and pixies and Faun would be the elves, Mermaids and Nymphs. Both are equally great for me.
Have you listen to The Moon and the Nightspirit?
What about Rapalje?
2007-08-30 [Melocrie]: Don't know The Moon... But Nightspirit is cool ^^
I'm not so fond of Rapalje, though... Some of their songs are great, I think, really energetic. But I dislike others because there's hardly any meaning in it...
2007-08-30 [Jitter]: No :(( I haven't heard either. But I like koenigin and November a lot :)
2007-09-01 [..majo..]: Everyone who doesnt know Omnia should be fucking ashamed of themselfs :P OMNIA ROELT DE WERELD!
2007-09-01 [Melocrie]: ZEKER! xD
2007-09-06 [Kuruni]: ahahaha, Konigin is my favorite by Faun, also Von den Elben and Tagelied. And there is a band called "The Moon and the Nighspirit", from Hungary, go listen to them NOW NOW NOW
They are great, nice, and Agnes voice is like a mermaid's and Mihaly is a cutie ;)
I'm trying to do something so they can play at Castlefest next year. Wish me luck!
2007-09-06 [Melocrie]: Good luck! :D
A bummer I don't have sound on this pc... When I can I wil hear them!
2007-09-06 [Jitter]: Oooh they sound so folk! I love music that's from other countries in Europe! I'm really bored of Western music xD
ps- By the way they have AWESOME artwork for their albums :O
2007-09-07 [Melocrie]: Uhuh 0_o
2007-09-13 [Kuruni]: yes! Agnes is such a nice artist, she makes the art herself.
Is there any other bands someone could recommend?
2007-09-16 [Melocrie]: It's a little louder, but "Trollfest" is a funny one. It's technically mostly screaming the word 'beer' or 'mead', but with hilarious banjo lines in between xD
Or else you could try Medieval Baebes, but I'm sure you saw them too.
2007-09-21 [Kuruni]: yes yes Medieval Baebes are great but not my kind of thing really. but they are nice yesh yesh.
Trollfest? i'll look for it!
2007-09-22 [Jitter]: Maybe Korpiklaani... They're finnish folk metal but all their songs revolve around drinking x) They're fun!
Trollfest was kinda loud even for me :p x_x
2007-09-22 [Melocrie]: Yeah, they are indeed loud. I only really like some songs of them, though. The rest is just funny :P
At Castlefest, my friends truly hated the Medieval Baebes... I dunno, they just do something to me.. I love the way they sing and chant together.
2007-09-22 [Jitter]: Medieval Baebes sound nice and I like their artwork :O *clicks googled links*
Truth is I'm not mmuch into female vocals but some bands are worth it :)
2007-09-23 [Decla]: omnia ruleeeeezzzz :D
2007-09-24 [Melocrie]: Yesssss! But I know you love Rapalje more :P Or am I wrong? xD
2007-09-30 [Kuruni]: Well, i like Medieval Baebes, but they are now just too commercial for my liking i think.... there's something "fake" that was not there before..... i don't know....
2007-10-02 [Melocrie]: And besides that, they're kinda witless.. xD I was with a friend in her hotel and the baebes were staying there too. The elevator door wouldn't open (it was under way) and a blonde baebe came up to us and started banging against the door, holding a glass of wine in one hand, yelling; is it broken?? can we fix it?? Why won't it open??
2008-11-17 [Kuruni]: someone got the DVD already??
