1. The Unicorn In Autumn
Darkling armies stand awe-hushed
Hearing rumours and whispers
Tired arms raised skyward
Stark, growing bare
Pleading that it not be so
Their pride stripped
As rusting badges fall,
Vapour engulfing their crooked feet
Little swirls between their naked toes
Cold like Neptune’s embrace
Drowning the hoar crusted blades
Brittle, un-tempered
No fire to steel them
Fractured underfoot
As the mists are stirred
By a passing entity
In white mourning raiment
A fleeing apparition
Hounded by wolves of winter
His hair like gossamer floss
Flowing in unfelt breezes
Holding his sabre aloft
Useless, hopeless
Blind eyes and deaf ears
His heart is crushed
Unseen forces press around
Frost has conquered him.
Thus begins his trek
Heaving sighs and streaming tears
Feeling the urge of desperate climes
The king is dethroned
Compelled to reign elsewhere
For a season,
His throne ever moving
To places where birds flee,
Until beckoned from exile
At the cry of abandoned seeds
He will return
Commanding the dawn
And raising the armies from the dead.

2. A Unicorn's Beauty
Walking through the meadow with a horn brightly shining,
chewing on the bright green grasses neighing and whining.
Beauty at its best standing in the middle of nowhere,
nothing for it to worry about, nothing for it to care.
With the tail of a lion and a Billy Goat's beard,
the huge horn on it's head is nothing to be feared.
It is a peaceful animal with a love of the outdoors.
Spends all day in the meadow grazing on all fours.
Happiness, love and beauty are what's thought of the Unicorn.
Such an amazing looking creature since the time it was born.

3. Herald
We the weavers and rememberers of tales
Sift backwards through the granules of time
To find
The Shadhavar with horn of ruby alabaster night
And silken mane like pearlescent threads of light.
We seek
Beneath the supple limbed yew, in verdant shaded vale,
To spy within our seeking the shining vivid Yale.
We hope,
In Eden, to find the Einhorn.
So gather fate's composers!
Gather bards and wording men.
Gather to the sound of golden hooves
That echo from the when.
Gather to pay homage,
And to trumpet on the horn,
To tell the truth with majesty
Of the noble Unicorn.

4. The Sentry
Listen. Do you hear it?
The sound of that distant cry,
Echoes through the woodland
And spirals into the sky.
His mane is flowing and perfect,
And his body elegant and pure,
His heart so full of love
His stride so straight and sure.
See as he moves in the moonlight
The shimmering essence of his soul.
Hear his quiet cry,
For protection is his goal.
His horn, though not straight and perfect
Lights up his way in the dark.
And he dances all night for The Mother,
His horn giving off many a spark.
Beware though do not startle him,
Be quiet and stay where you’re stood.
Do naught, but listen and watch him,
For the sentry is stalking the wood.
