PencilPencil is my most familiar medium. It's mostly in pencil where my improvements in anatomy and patience can be seen. My style has been fairly consistent over the years. Maybe I'm a bit stagnant, but it's MY style! | Traditional colorAs a kid, most of my drawings were drawn in ink and colored pencils or markers. They were also pencilled first. I drew less and less with traditional colors as time passed. | Computer colored and modified pencilDigitally colored pencil art was long my favorite and main medium. | Computer-made picturesNot one of these pictures is "completely" digital; they all had a base sketch that I drew over and then discarded. Very little if anything of the original is left. | InkAfter inking and coloring my drawings from the beginning and only thinking the ink was an unavoidable part of the drawing, I finally started inking again and realized how great a medium it was. Varying line-widths! | Computer colored ink drawingsThis shouldn't be such a new medium to me, but I don't have evidence. |
| Nothing here! | 1998 Yes, one of the very first pictures of humans I drew! | Nothing here! | Nothing here! | Nothing here! | Nothing here! |
1999 Now, this first one isn't much. Still, basic perspective, basic anatomy and I was willing to draw humans and backgrounds! | 1999 Everything is a bit better than last year. | Nothing here! | Nothing here! | Nothing here! | Nothing here! |
| Nothing here! | 2000 Pose development and some shading. | Nothing here! | Nothing here! | Nothing here! | Nothing here! |
2001 But in the second one I've learned to draw teens and some basic anatomy—the forehead surrounded by hair doesn't extend beyond the skull anymore! | 2001 In senior secondary, I saw a totally new way of coloring with colored pencils. I never really learned it, though. | 2001 My first try wasn't much: playing with brightness and colorization. | Nothing here! | Nothing here! | Nothing here! |
2002 I also learned to shade and use the eraser for shading. Anatomy improved a lot during this year. | Nothing here! | 2002 Then I started learning about other tools and smudging. | 2002 It began with layers, darken, lighten and smudge. | Nothing here! | Nothing here! |
2003 I seem to have experimented on slightly different subjects here and made some progress. | 2003 Anatomy for the win! | 2003 And layers... | 2003 So it continued, but vectors were nice and clean too. | Nothing here! | Nothing here! |
2004 Most of my stuff always looked almost as messy as this comic. I also learned patience. | 2004 | 2004 Great leaps. | 2004 Vectors, starscapes, digital lineart and a picture that was extremely pleasing to my eyes for three years. | 2004 Brush pens and varying lines discovered. | 2004 And so it began continued... |
2005 Shading, detail and anatomy. | 2005 Anatomy for the win again. | 2005 New coloring techniques. | 2005 Perspective and poses! | 2005 There's that anatomy. | Nothing here! |
2006 Facial anatomy and different kind of characters. Most of my drawings were simple sketches. | 2006 And now, patience for the win. If only I could finish this picture... | 2006 | 2006 | 2006 Oops, lost it for a while. | Nothing here! |
2007 Getting more boring, but anatomy still improves at places. | Nothing here! | 2007 Then it sort of faded. It took too long. | Nothing here! | 2007 Didn't always do varying lines since then, either. Ballpoint pen is also ink! Brush pens abandoned. I'll vary my own lines. | 2007 I'm very proud of these. |
2008 I think the anatomy has improved too much. Is it just me or have Ronji and Tikekean never looked as boring? | Nothing here! | Nothing here! | 2008 New tools, new methods and apparently realistic colors! | 2008 Details and buildings need work. | 2008 |
