The true power of positive thinking

posted by [liiga]

We often wonder why the world is in such poor condition – why there are problems like corruption, global warming, poor leaders, starvation, large diseases. We often catch ourselves drawing a dim future from these facts, because that is where the present is heading. But question is – which part of the present is really making this future so dim? Are they the conditions that we face? If so, what makes them so hard to overcome? Or would it by any chance be possible that it is our certainty that future will be hard that makes it so?

The psychological factors of expectations are known in several ways. In economics, we know that when people expect inflation, they themselves cause it (through a chain of events that nobody wants to hear about I’m sure). In dietology, we know that ‘I will not be fat’ is much less effective a thing to tell yourself than ‘I will be thin’. And just from our experience, we know that exams become so much harder due to stress if we expect them to be hard. Yet, how deep does this root, and is there something more behind these manifestations?

I believe that expectations and positive/negative thinking in fact have an immense effect on the future that we are building. Let me reflect on the metaphysical aspects of this issue. It is widely believed that before events happen, their energetical ‘blueprints’ are formed somewhere ‘out there’. In practicality, you see this by diagnosing diseases from auras before they even take place, predicting the future, etc. Now, where do these blueprints really come from? Is it just the existing events that lead to others in a dry logical chain, or does our intent have anything to do with it? I believe that intent, expectations, beliefs play a major role in formation of these blueprints, because mind and intent are more apt to manipulate energy than the dense and more inert physical mass itself. So just like we can determine our own moods if we want to, we can and do determine our entire future.

There is more to this. Have you ever noticed the large tendency of various spirits to warn about upcoming conflicts, battles? The tendency to assure individuals that they have large roles in fighting ‘for great justice’ at some point in (preferably) nearby future? The feeling of need carried over to the individual to prepare for such conflicts? I believe, that all these movements are mostly based on the idea of ‘willing things into existence’. The more conflicts we expect, the more we draw them into existence. While it is certainly a great thing to be willing to change the world for the better, it is by far not needed to believe that it will get worse before things improve.

All in all, I believe that it is very important that we focus on the positive elements of life. Belief in better future, in world peace, in all these things that we automatically deem to be ‘too good to be true’ can actually become solid hard reality, if we allow it to. Why don’t we? Who knows. On may say that it is an attempt to protect oneself from disappointment – but at the same time, such approach has an underlying belief that there will be a disappointment to protect oneself from. So the more people believe that this world does have a chance, the more chances it will have. That is the true meaning of self-empowerment – deciding and shaping our own future.
