no allegiance for now
Su’mayi is tall, slender, but physically competent. Her cold nature is shown by every aspect of her appearance. She has light blue skin, proud pointed nose, and fleshy pale lips, in a bony face. Her hair’s always made into a bun, and is of a dark blue colour, just like her eyes. She wears clothes of black leather, with gray fur linings. Her long sleeved leather gloves and boots are made so that the fins on her wrists and ankles stand out. She has tattoos like scars running along the side of her both thighs.
Su is a cold and quiet character. People see her doing things, but rarely saying anything. She hardly gets attached to anyone, no friends, no family, and that makes her an outsider wherever she goes. Her dark past eats at her every second, and so she has little sleep, and almost no interest in anything that would make her feel good. She likes to suffer, something that she thinks will help her remedy the pain she feels inside. Even though, she rather hurts herself than others, but still, she keeps hurting others, emotionally and physically, thinking that’s what she started many years ago, and was meant to do so. Her softest point is for babies; only time when others see her smile, and also cry, is when she sees a little baby.
Su’mayi’s family was of the middle-class. Her father owned a trinket shop, where he sold from small pieces of jewellery, to fixing ornamental objects and such. Her mother, was a fair lovely woman, who knitted and helped her father with his job. Su’mayi was brought up in a house filled with love and joy. She would play around her father’s shop all day, fascinated at the dazzling objects all over, and listening to her father’s stories everyday, as he whiped each one of them shining objects.
Everything was well, until her brother was born. He was a sickly child, and drained life from her mother when he came to this world. After that neither the baby boy nor his mother were healthy again. Su had to help around the house, as little as she was, and her father worked hard to provide enough money for food and medicine. Everything since that point changed; She saw less of her ever present parents, and her father became quiet.
Everyone thought her mother and baby brother weren’t going to last long, but as everything was messed up, one day, when Su was alone at home, taking care of her mother and brother, her uncle brought news of a horrible accident, that her father had had a fatal accident, while trying to prevent a fight in front of his shop. At hearing the news, her mother’s health grew worse, and she didn’t even care to see either of her children. Su was sent to live at her uncle’s house along with her small baby brother. Things got worse when a few days later, another crisis hit the family, and her mother committed suicide.
The ill faith of their family was the talk of the town. Everyone said it was the boy who brought the evil along, destroying his parents one by one. Su’s childish fears, and a disillusioned mind by sadness beyond her understanding and endurance, drove her to near madness. She felt like she was next to die, and then her little brother, so she decided to prevent this. The only thing her little mind thought was right, the only way to protect herself and others from the evil that was her brother. So one day she took her baby brother out into the forest and near the big river. In the stories her father told her, she had heard that rivers were roads to the other world, to peaceful death. So she put her brother in his crib, and placed it on the water like a little boat and cried as she watched it rush away from her. She cried all day, cried herself to sleep, and was found at night by her worried uncle and aunt. When they found out what she had done, they were so furious, so sad that they couldn’t bare keep her around any longer. They sent her away, travelling with a merchant, and telling him to find a suitable place for her, and not to tell anyone about her past. She was to be introduced as an orphan.
And so she was, and lucky for her, an old couple who were potion brewers and alchemists and wanted an apprentice, and also an heir, adopted her. They more or less brought her up strictly as a help, and helped her to pursue her dream of becoming a frost bearer, like her uncle. After twenty-four years of living with them, Su was allowed to leave, when they both passed away. She sold the shop, and grabbed her fortune and started to travel, to find a place where she’d find her peace of mind.
