Winners of the St. Patrick's Art, Poetry and Description competition 2009:

Leprechaun's Gold

People searched far and wide,
Looking for something they can't find.
“At the end of the rainbow!” They would say,
But trudged unhappily home at the end of the day.
People grew untrustworthy and greedy,
Trying to find something that was ugly and beady.
Things grew violent, malicious and angry,
Children grew sick, faded and hungry.
Wanting their parents love and support,
But they turned their back, cross their arms and snort.
So the children ran away,
A place where its safe to play.
A place where the angry people can't find,
A place where they can run and hide.
A place far away from the Leprechaun's Gold,
A place far away from the sinister cold.
A place in their head,
every time they pray and go to bed.

2008-01-05 [nehirwen]: maybe a coin? (the biggest coin they have in the participants country, if it isn't to small?) - as in 'the gold at the end of the rainbow'..

2008-01-05 [Sunrose]: Good idea! =)

2008-01-05 [nehirwen]: I've put it as point C. in the St. Patrick's day Competition Rules.

2008-01-06 [Lin-tastic]: Really? I chose the left glove/mitten...as it is New Years when it happens, I figured most people would have their snow gear out...lol
I just put it on the actual page of the competition...lol

2008-01-25 [Fizban]: This is an un-official contest right?

2008-01-25 [Lin-tastic]: Last I knew, it was. Are you interested in competing?

2008-01-25 [nehirwen]: This is an unofficial contest indeed, as you won't get a pretty badge in your badge slot. (you may put one in your description though)
You can read more info about festivals in this article: <URL:news.html?nrs=432>.
And feel welcome to enter this contest ^^

2008-01-31 [bullet in the head]: did you now that St. Patrick was actually one perverse motherfucker. read his confessio

2008-01-31 [Sunrose]: Thanks for the tip :)

2008-02-01 [sequeena_rae]: Did you know St. Patrick wasn't even Irish? :o He was Welsh omfg!

2008-02-01 [nehirwen]: <img:44166_1164557415.gif> more St. Patrick info: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saint_Patrick

2008-02-02 [Lin-tastic]: -giggles- It's good to know about that. lol We should make an informative page for each of them, the basic history of the festival, but that would mean more work, wouldn't it?

2008-02-02 [nehirwen]: Nah, that job is for the description entrants to do.
But you may look up a wikipedialink for a starter. :)

2008-02-02 [Lin-tastic]: Sounds like fun, huh? I'm thinking of entering something into each contest...Oh, and a little surprise for the staff of Festivals. ;D It should be fun. xD

2008-02-02 [nehirwen]: A little surprise? :) lol.
Have fun with entering the contests! ^^

2008-02-04 [Lin-tastic]: Thank you. You should too. It'd be interesting to see what you come up with. :)

2008-03-08 [nehirwen]: Vote on: SPD Poll 2008!!

2008-03-17 [nehirwen]: Congratulations to the winners, and a happy St. Patrick's day to all!! <img:44166_1164145171.gif>

2008-05-21 [nehirwen]: This contest is now opened for 2009! <img:stuff/dand-gif.gif>

2008-11-23 [Artsieladie]: Hmm... No photography section? Just working on MC, so I thought I'd ask. ;P

2008-11-23 [nehirwen]: No, last year I had zero entries, so I've removed that part of the contest for this year.
