Silvie's Art

The Art of [SilverFire]

http://slayer-igraine.deviantart.com/gallery/

You Know the usual Shabam, my art, no stealy, fear me, rawr, rawr, rawr - etc. You get the drift.

If you want to see my diary mood doodles (why would you, you ask? No, I don't know either), then go to Silvie's Moods.

Currently you can check out Silvie's Free Art for the chance to get an art request off me. I usually don't do requests, this will be the first one in years. So er, if you like my art, this might be your only opportunity.

Igraine (2005)

<img200*0:stuff/Igraine3%20copy.gif>

An RP character of mine - one of my only two vampires out of... however many characters I have. Also the eponymous character in a comic-idea of mine. She's fun to RP because she's insane. ^.^

Hammer Horror (2006)

<img200*0:stuff/diana%20copy.gif>

stylised self-portrait type thing. O.o

Shine (2006)

<img100*0:stuff/ShineI.gif><img100*0:stuff/ShineII.gif><img100*0:stuff/Shine%20copy.gif><img100*0:stuff/ShineI%20copy.gif>

<img200*0:stuff/Shine%20copy.png>

Drawing for people to whom I owe a lot. All anatomical/perspective 'errors' are intentional (except, of course, for the ones I haven't spotted yet). I deliberately didn't draw her hands or feet and yes, her waist is supposed to be that thin. Fear my background. >.> Changing it to PNG minimised pix'ation, but caused more colour-loss in the yellow colours, and on parts of the gown.

Anabella (2006)

<img200*0:stuff/spinerbg.png>

Porphyria's Lover/The Grudge meets Gothic Lolita. I was toying around with the character design for Annabella from The House On Gossamer Hill, and added elements from films such as The Grudge & The Ring - where masses of black hair just seems to appear from nowhere. Some elements of this will stay, some'll go, and obviously, when Anabella's done; she'll be younger than this. Unfortunately, I can't find the file anywhere on my computer to add the sig. X_x

Smell (2006)

<img200*0:stuff/smellsig.jpg>

My best friend for the past however many years, we've all gone our separate ways to uni now, and I don't have many photos of them, so I'm doing drawings of them instead. having said that, ironically, this is photo-referenced. The images, those that I have, are on my computer, but no decent photo paper have I. Sometimes I look at this and think it looks like her, other timse I think it looks nothing like her. So I know something about it isn't quite right, but I'm not sure what.

Daniel (2006)

<img200*0:stuff/Danielsig.jpg>

For Daniel, of Daniel <3 *glomps*. Not as good as the original pencil sketch, imo; but I wanted to try and colour something I'd drawn in a realistic style. Result:

SilverFire - Night Elf Hunter (2007)

<img200*0:http://www.elftown.com/img/photo/5555_1171204769.jpg>

My Night elf hunter, from WoW. Wearing... the usual night elf style 'armour'. *shrug* I wish I could say that this image has been a steep learning curve for me. But I don't think it has. Or maybe it's just that I started it so long ago (about a month ago - long for me, and my memory) that I can't remember how much it really taught me.

Elspeth (2007)

<img200*0:stuff/Elspeth10.jpg>

Many thanks to my RL friend Paula for helping me correct and adjust the image, she pointed out lots of small mistakes and flaws, and I think the changes really improved the image.

SilverFire (2004-7)

<img200*0:stuff/silvieshot2.jpg>

Line art is several years old, just found it on my computer and decided to finish it finally - I was put off at the time because I got her hand the wrong way round, and had to reverse all the fingers (the index finger was originally at the front). So yes, parts of the image that I couldn't be bothered to touch-up, like the eye, are crap, because they're a few years old.

Melpomene (2007)

<img200*0:http://www.elftown.com/stuff/eve2.jpg>

My entry for EVE Tournament 4, round 2. ballpoint pen on watercolour paper. Melpomene was the Greek muse of tragedy, identified by teh tragic mask and the 'crown' of cypress. According to Aristotle, tragic characters had a hamartia (fatal flaw) which resulted in their downfall, hers is Pride (Superbia). The cloak is a reference to Blake's Marriage of Heaven & Hell, in particular, one of the Proverbs of Hell, which states that Shame is pride's cloak. The word written on her cloak, 'Dedecus' is Latin for 'Shame'. :)

Dreamscape (2007)

<img200*0:stuff/dreamscapesf.jpg>

Entry for the third round of EVE, which I lost. The picture isn't as complete as I wanted it to be, since I had exams to revise for as well. At one point there was going to be a lighthouse in the bottom left corner, but again, I ran out of time. Maybe I'll finish it one day.

Esyllt (2007)

<img200*0:stuff/esylltfinsig.jpg>

For the Portfolio Contest - for the theme of childhood dreams: many little kids want to grow up to be a mermaid or an elven princess, and just don't understand why that can't be.

The Fae (2007)

<img200*0:stuff/santafaefin.jpg>

For [dayahnaira] as part of Secret Santa 2007. Look Familiar? (scroll up if you can't remember where you've seen it before). Hopefully she's received it by now, and even more hopefully, she liked it. :)

'Nother Fae (2008)

<img200*0:stuff/ecmfaefin.jpg>

Done for the ECM Fae session. I really rushed finishing it tonight, which you can probably tell on full-view (left hand and foot, and the wings in general), because I got the deadline for the contest wrong. But I'm both busy and lazy, and I think after working on it so much tonight it'll be a while before I go back to fix it, if I ever do.

Taurus (2008)

<img200*0:stuff/Taurusfin.jpg>

Uh'm. I'd like to do the rest at some point, but don't hold your breath for it, apart from the fact that I'm awful at doing work in series, I have absolutely no style to call my own, and thus no continuity of style. Makes it hard to do 12 pieces in the same style. :O

2008-01-03 [SilverFire]: :) Glad you liked it.

2008-01-03 [dayahnaira]: oh yes I love it...:D

2008-03-30 [SilverFire]: Possibly of interest to some people watching this page: Silvie's Free Art.

2008-05-30 [Duke Devlin]: Lies! *boo, hiss etc* I would love to look at your mood sketches! *does so*

2008-07-16 [Rat Hacker]: i LOVE how you do hair

2008-07-16 [SilverFire]: Thanks. ^^ I actually find hair the hardest part. It's so frustrating O_o

2008-07-16 [Elwyne]: yeah, I agree with that

2008-08-04 [Easterling]: Your pictures are amazing. I don't really know why I haven't looked through your art before :O .. but I'm glad I finally did.

2008-08-04 [SilverFire]: ^.^ Thank you.

2008-09-08 [iippo]: Schweet. You really nailed that Taurus :)

2008-09-13 [SilverFire]: :3 w0rd. Thanks. ^^ (are all comments in bold now? :[)

2008-09-13 [Aradon Templar]: o.O I do not see bolded comments.

2008-09-13 [SilverFire]: O.o Odd. I'm seeing all text in bold, comments and the wiki-page itself. And GB messages.

2008-09-13 [Triola]: Me too :/ It's annoying

2008-09-13 [Aradon Templar]: o.O If it were just your computer, Silvie, I'd suggest maybe you increased the font size or something on accident, but I don't know why two people would have the same issue and I wouldn't.

2008-09-13 [SilverFire]: It's fixed now. :D It was because there was a bold tag missing at the end of the box telling you if you have an upcoming birthday. So presumably the reason you didn't see everything in bold is because you don't have any friends with upcoming birthdays. :P

2008-09-13 [Aradon Templar]: True fact. I do not have any friends with upcoming birthdays.

2008-09-15 [iippo]: Upcoming birthdays? That sounds very Facebooky...

2008-09-18 [Duke Devlin]: It is. :( It is very facebooky/myspacey. :( But I guess we'll survive, right? XD

2008-10-04 [Hendercrazy]: Really nice art you have [SilverFire]. :) "Shine" continues to be my favorite of yours thus far. ;)

2008-10-04 [SilverFire]: Thanks. :) Though it's an older piece I still remember the amount of work I put into it at the time, and I'm still proud of it. ^^
