Second Round, Second Fight of the [Magus Ferox] BattleArena.
Back to the Standings

[Canthlian] pads in. "Hmm. Seems like I'm early. Oh well." Slumping against a wall, he pulls a small puzzle out of his pocket and starts playing with it.

[instigator] walks in, straigtening out his clothes and equipment. He is also buckling on a new (replacement) shield as his previous one met with [Hhoal] s axe. He greets [Canthalin] "Ah, G'day there. Hows things?

[Canthlian] shrugs. "So so. You know how it is. Anyway, shall we get on with it?"

"Yeah, why not" [instigator] draws both daggers and waits for [Canthalian] to draw his weapon...

[Canthlian] turns and grabs his staff from by the door. Holding it up at chest height, he waggles his eyebrows. "Go fer it."

[instigator] throws dagger one at [Cantalian]. (because going at it hand to hand, the quarterstaff would have a longer reach)

[Canthlian] turns his quarterstaff slightly and puts it in the path of the dagger, jumping slightly as it slams into it with a 'Thunk!' "Good one!"

"Youre gonna ruin your little swizzlestick if you keep that up" yells [instigator] as he hurls the other dagger.

[Canthlian] swings the quarterstaff around and catches the othe dagger on the far end. "It'll survive. It's been through worse."

[instigator] draws sword and shield, then begins to close in for melee combat, shield first. Shield first. "But will you?..."

[Canthlian] grins. "I suspect so. Prepare to be whallomped." Holding his staff up, he prepares for the attack.

Hiding behind his shield [instigator] makes a half-hearted attack to [Canthalian] s sword arm (thats his prefered hand for those who dont know and yes, I know he's using a staff)

[Canthlian] rolls to his right, dropping under the attack. Coming back to his feet, he bounces back a little. "I take it you're just getting warmed up?"

After his distracting half-arsed sword stab, [instigator] follows on with a full-arsed swing of his shield at [Canthlian] s head, as he gets back up...

[Canthlian], not seeing the shield, gets knocked straight onto his back as the shield connects with his chin, lifting him up and over. "Agh!"

Seising the oppertunity, [instigator] swings his sword down on the helpless (well, thats how it looks anyway) [Canthlian]

[Canthlian] looks up in time to see the sword swinging down onto him. Quickly rolling to the side, he sticks out his foot and snags [instigator]'s ankle as he rolls, trying to trip him.

[Canthlian] s foot hits [instigator] ankle and stops, clearly just rolling over does not give enough momentum to achieve the desired task. [instigator] sniggers and has another swipe and the still gounded target.

[Canthlian] grins up at [instigator] and yanks his leg back hard, hooking his foot around the ankle.

While [Canthlian] flails his leg into his opponents leg in a somewhat aggressive manner, [instigator] steps back and waits for his opponent to get up. "Get up you fool, If you keep that up in a life or death match, you will die. The first thing to do if you hit the deck is to get up (you may take a sneak shock to their legs if you like but dont do it more that once), on the ground, you're a sitting duck. Now get off the ground and fight for real from now on..."

[Canthlian] blinks in costernation, "Hmm.. that move has always worked before for me. What are you, glued to the ground?"

"Well, how I missed a grounded target with sword twice also struck me as odd..."

"Hmm..." [Canthlian] pulls himself up into a standing position and glares at the roof. "Ferox! Have you been messing with the laws of reality again?!"

"How did I end up against a fool like this..." mutters [instigator], to himself.

[Canthlian] peeks at [instigator]. "Hey, don't knock it till you've tried it. Losing your mind can be a lot of fun."

"Hey! I dont suffer from insanity, I enjoy every minute of it!" [instigator] screams as he lunges at [Canthlian] with his bastard sword extended

[Canthlian] swing around and falls backwards. Planting his feet on the ground, he back-flips, kicking his foot against [instigator]'s sword hand as he does so.

[Canthlians] foot connects with [instigator] hand, however, since he had to do a limbo-esque duck to get beneath 5 feet of sharpened steel, the blow was insignificant. [instigator] shuffles forward and brings his sword back over his left shoulder and executes a huge horizontal slice at his opponent.

[Canthlian], still in the middle of the back-flip, falls backwards and collides with the ground as the sword passes overhead. "Oof!" Rolling away quickly, he climbs to a kneeling position.

Pushing the advantage, [instigator] steps through and swings his sword hard at [Canthlian] back the way it came, back to his left shoulder...

[Canthlian], realising he doesn't have enough time to get away, dives forward and scrambles between [instigator]'s legs. Spotting his staff on the ground a little way ahead, he sprints to grab it.

"Smart-@$$!" [instigator] hollers as he drops his sword and shield to draw an arrow into his bow...

Chuckling at the two fighter's strange brand of slapstick, Ferox walks into the Arena. "Sorry to interupt you, boys, but we've got a situation on our hands. I'd like you to meet me over in the MainArena..." Ferox walks over to [Canthlian], claps a hand on his shoulder and whispers to him, "I think you should pay a visit to [Anathoth] in the Infirmary, he's hurt pretty badly..."

[Canthlian] looks at [Magus Ferox] "Hurt? Anathoth? What happened? No wait, don't tell me, I've gotta get --- agh!" [Canthlian] climbs to his feet and runs off at top speed.

[instigator] goes to MainArena

Since both competitors had left the arena, Mulciber decided to score the fight as it is... Unless they object..

"And the final score is.. Canthlian with 280, Instigator with 250. [Canthlian], meet [Mouse] in the Championship Fight. Instigator may meet the others in the Consolation fight if he chooses. Congrats, you guys!"
