The crowds roar and cheer as the warriors [Mouse] and [Ali jay] enter the Arena. AN announcer yells over a megaphone, "Fight bravely, fight fairly. Just a reminder, the battle goes to the quickest and most creative. The fight will be under fourty posts, not including any posts by spectators. BEGIN!"

[Ali jay] stands a good distance of 10 metres away from [Mouse], but is looking at her square on. He slowly draws his broad sword and lets the sound ring through the arena for a second. He holds the point slightly tilted up. Looking at [Mouse] he decides he can not make the first move. He stabs his broad sword into the dirt infront of him and draws his short swords. He repeats his actions. [Ali jay] drops to his knees. The wind carries away some of the disturbed dirt. He bowes his head and does not look at [Mouse].
I await your attack. He says to her. [Ali jay] strains all of his senses. Magical or not he pushes them to their limits. 

[Mouse] mutters something that sounds a great deal like 'idiot' as she draws her own sword,the ruins on Sishraen's blade glowing silver-blue fire at her touch. Then she flicks the fingers of her left hand,a crackling red orb growing in the palm of her hand. Holding Sishraen at the ready, she tosses the orb directly at AJ's lowered head.

[Ali jay] is on his feet even before the orb takes flight. Standing still awaiting the arrival of the orb. The orb hits an unseen something and smashes like a soft apple to a brick wall, just infront of [Ali jay]. [Ali jay] flicks three of his knives at [Mouse] and with in human speed he takes his broad sword and runs along side his knives. It takes a second for him and his knives to cover the gap and suddenly [Ali jay] is just infront of [Mouse] with all three of his knives even closer heading point on aimed straight at her neck.

Well-trained reaction saves [Mouse] from having her skull cleaved in half by AJ's sword, blocking it with her own. However, she has not a second to even contemplate doing something to stop the knives. With her shift to block AJ's blow, one flies past her shoulder. With a wet thunk, one embeds itself in her left shoulder. The other sinks just shy of her throat,just below her collar bone on the left side. Hot blood splatters the dirt at their feet,and [Mouse]'s eyes grow wide in obvious shock.With a gasp she wavers,biting her lip,AJ's broad sword pressing closer as her grip on Sishraen weakens. A pained,strangled whimper escapes her.

"C'MON MOUSE!!! You can't die yet!!" A frantic fan screams from the crowd, "Pull yourself together!!" 

Gritting her teeth,tasting blood where she had bitten her lip,Mouse makes a decision to ignore her earlier plan of fighting nice. With a hiss of pain, she frees a hand, and with a gesture she disappears to reappear directly behind AJ, delivering a vicious kick to the small of his back. Blood continues to flow from the deep knife wounds in her chest.

[Ali jay] jumps at the shock of being suddenly kicked. In mid air he too disappears and reappears right behind [Mouse]. [Ali jay] grasps [Mouse] in a bear hug from behind and whispers in her ear. "No mouse, do not die. But do not live. You made the first move and I had to react, it is law." He holds her their, keeping her arms pinned to her chest he lets her bleed. With every drop of blood that passes out of her wounds she grows weaker. And still he holds her.....


"Hey! Hey!" Mouse struggles in Ali jay's grip, ignoring the pain of her flesh tugging at the embedded blades. "Coward! Lemme go!" Suddenly, she stops,realising her struggles are getting her nowhere. "Sweet mother of mercy AJ, we're not seriously trying to kill each other here, you know!" Struggling a little more, she hisses, cursing for the first time the fact she needs a free hand, often two, in order to cast a spell. Then, in a sudden burst of inspiration, she kicks her heel back and up towards his groin...

[Ali jay] takes the unsuspecting kick and stumbles back. Lowering himself off his now shaky legs [Ali jay] lands on the ground on his knees. Holding the tender area a look of confussion and pain crosses his face as he strugles for breath but can't seem to find it.

With a crow of triumph, [Mouse] spins round, knocking the disorientated AJ onto his back. Straddling his chest, she holds Sishraen against his throat, twitching the blade so it nicks his throat,making it rather difficult to move his head without inadvertantly decapitating himself. "Cry surrender,or I'll take your head off," she says,not a trace of humor to found in voice or eyes.

[Ali jay] disappears. He reappears 20 metres behind [Mouse]. "Will you not bleed until you pass out all ready!? I know we aren't trying to kill each other that is why I said don't dye but do not live!!! Meaning pass out, fool!!" He yells at her. [Ali jay] holds his hand out and one of his short swords appears in it.

With a frustrated sound, Mouse scrambles up and faces AJ. She looks down at the two knives still buried in her shoulder and beneath her collar bone. Her chest is soaked in crimson, and still the blood flows. She glares at Ali jay. "I am not a fool. And do you really think I'll make it that easy for you?" Holding Sishraen at the ready,she puts up a tough front, but in truth is a little worried about the profuse blood loss.

"You know that I shall not attack you unprovocted" [Ali jay] says seeing [Mouse] ready a defence. [Ali jay] lowers his head only this time.

Cursing under her breath, Mouse contemplates her situation. Frustrated,bleeding, and in pain,she does the first thing that comes to mind,streaking across the space between them and taking a heavy handed horizontal swipe at AJ's throat.

[Ali jay] brings his blade in between the space of his throat and [Maouse]'s sword. Hearing the clang of swords next to his head [Ali jay] rocks back. [Ali jay] brings his other hand around as if to hit [Mouse] with a bare fist but at the last couple of seconds his other short sword appears in his grasp as he aims it for her side.

Mouse lends all her strength to pressing her blade home. So focussed on this, she does not notice AJ's other hand until too late. Feeling steel sink into her side,she moans as hot pain lances through her insides. "Bastard," she hisses,sinking painfully to one knee, now fighting to keep AJ's sword from her own throat.

[Ali jay] withdraws his blade and steps away from [Mouse]. He watches all the pain he has inflicted on her. A battle is also being fought inside [Ali jay] whether to heal his friend of a friend or to let her suffer in pain. [Ali jay] takes another step away from [Mouse] deciding to let her be at the moment.

Clutching her side, sure her innards must be about to slosh out,Mouse struggles to her feet,panting. She holds Sishraen in front of her, but the blade trembles along with her body. Backing off slowly until she is a reasonable distance away, Mouse suddenly lashes out with her mind,stabbing deep into Ali jay's consciousness with a well focussed mental probe, hoping to strike him unconscious.

[Ali jay] rocks back and slams into the ground, hard. [Ali jay]'s body flips around like a poisond insect as he tosses and turns grasping his head in some lost cause to relieve the pain. [Ali jay] has not lost conciousness but he is knocked into a dream like state. [Ali jay] stops moving for a second and suddenly his eyes flip open. [Ali jay] cannot see what is around him he can only see the melicious face of Gothen-Lauri (His Valerhu side). The face smiles, "I knew it," Gothen says in a deep rumbling voice. "I knew you would need me! You are weak!" He spits, "A weak, pittiful human!"

Suddenly [Ali jay] arises, however he does not seem to move at all. It is like he floats to his feet. [Ali jay] looks different but the same their is something wrong about him but something right. [Ali jay] turns to face [Mouse].

Feeling about as angry as a cat that's just been tossed into a pond,and about as bedraggled too,[Mouse] swaps her sword to her left hand and tugs the knife from her shoulder. Holding with bloody fingers the even bloodier blade,she glares at [Ali jay]. Flinging it back at [Ali jay] in a fit of rage, she transfers Sishraen back to her right hand in readiness for retaliation.

The knife's aim is true and it strikes [Ali jay] in the chest. [Ali jay] winces at the pain that is shooting around and up his spine and neck making it's way to the brain. [Ali jay] looks angrily at [Mouse] as he pulls the knife out of his chest. Blood rushes down the front of his body soaking his shirt making it stick to him. [Ali jay] runs his hands over the wound and suddenly it is gone. [Ali jay] teleports himself up next to [Mouse] and engages in a mind battle that could shake the Arena to it's knees.

"Get...out...of...my...HEAD!!!" Infuriated beyond belief, [Mouse] draws from the deep,dark, untried depths of her full powers without even thinking. Flinging her hands out and gesturing quickly, [Ali jay] flies into the air. With another gesture,he slams back to the ground...hard. "And stay out!!" [Mouse] hisses,residual power from her sudden unleashing still beating about her.

This time [Ali jay] is knocked out or so it seems. [Ali jay] continues the battle with in himself. Valerhu vs Human. After a few minutes the near death figure of [Ali jay] raises itself to it's feet. Only this time it was graceless and slow. [Ali jay] stands weakly and all can see he is now his old self only terribly beaten. [Ali jay] stands on his feet and holds his hand out where his broad sword appears. He faces [Mouse] "I'm still standing," he says egging her on. "C'mon!!!"

Growling, [Mouse] holds up her hand again,summoning up a crackling red orb from the same un-initiated depths of her power,throwing it forcefully at AJ.

AJ holds his hand straight out infront of him. The red orb hits his hand dead centre and sends him flying backwards eventually hitting the ground with a thud. After hitting AJ's hand the orb deflecks back in [Mouse]'s direction.

In a move that surprises even herself, Mouse catches the orb,tossing it back towards Ali jay. With a violent tug she removes the second knife from her chest,with a sudden gout of blood, throwing it too back at AJ.

[Ali jay] just getz back up on his feet and now the energy lost orb knocks him back over. [Ali jay] opens his eyes after having the wind knocked out of him. In slow motion he sees the knife pass over head, and in one quick snap he has reclaimed it. [Ali jay] stands and launches the knife back at [Mouse]. Using the time he had he quickly developed a blue orb with energies of fire and launches it even before the knife reaches [Mouse].

With a fast gesture, [Mouse] disappears, avoiding the approach of both knife and blue orb. Seconds pass without her re-appearance,before she suddenly slips out of nowhere behind AJ, raising sword high and driving the point down towards the spot between his shoulder blades...

[Nay] wanders in and sits in the stands with a bucket of popcorn. "Woohoo! Go Mouse! Give 'im the chair!" she yells as she eats her popcorn.

Sensing her presence, [Ali jay] is gone just as the point of [Mouse]'s blade began to protrude into the skin. Appearering bent low behind her [Ali jay] is already half way through a deadly swing to [Mouse]'s right kidney.

Mulciber manifests in the Arena, as the two combatants near the end of their fight. "Your time is running short, use it wisely." 

AJ's sword jars against an invisible barrier inches away from [Mouse]'s skin. With an angry look, she takes the instant his momentary surprise gives to deliver a forceful blow to the back of his head with the hilt of her sword.

[Ali jay] takes the blow and stumbles back. He makes an offencive mental blow that shatters the barrier around [Mouse] and once again lunges at her with his sword.

Avoiding AJ's lunge with a quick sidestep,Mouse gestures quickly,creating yet another crimson ball of energy that she throws at AJ before he has a chance to recover from his lunge...

The orb takes [Ali jay] in the back and sends him into the dirt on his face. [Ali jay] stands and faces [Mouse]. He waites a second to alow his power to grow, then out his finger tips come bolts of energy and he continues to send them at [Mouse] appearing to have no end to them at the moment.

A few bolts strike Mouse before she can struggle up a shield strong enough to prevent them. Gritting her teeth,wounds already sustained hurting,she dashes towards AJ straight on,thrusting her blade in just below his ribs.

[Ali jay]'s eyes fill with shock as the blade embeds itself in his body. Being driven back by the blade pressing in his body thretening to kill him [Ali jay] swings widely around with his short sword and has the sharp edge on deadly target with the side of her face. The razor blade draws near and......

Mulciber blows the whistle, ending the match. As the fighters end their struggles, recieving emergency repairs from the paramedics, Mulciber begins his deliberations as judge of the Tournament. Running through his checklist, he goes over the events of the match, tallying the points, deliberating...

"The winner of the third match of the first round is... [Mouse] , with 70 points. [Ali jay] has 55. Congratulations, Mouse. You'll be going on to RoundTwo#1 against [Nay] , and [Ali jay] may take part in the Consolation battle if he so chooses." Mulciber thanks the combatants for taking part in the Tournament, watches as they depart for their next battles. They can also visit the Infirmary for healing if they feel the need.  

[Ali jay] snaps back his blade before it stricks [Mouse]. He wedges his way off her blade and heals himself. [Ali jay] hands [Mouse]'s blade back to her and shakes her hand. "Good fight!" he says to her, "and no hard feelings."

"You were a split second away from wrecking my face, and now you say no hard feelings?!" [Mouse] puts her hands on her hips, then smiles,returning AJ's handshake. "Just kidding." Then she turns to Mulciber, almost trying to curtsey before correcting herself and bowing, before wandering off, thinking that perhaps a visit to the infirmary to get stitched up might be a good idea.
