2008-03-17 [Ir-Iddyn]: I believe this young man is in the JR ROTC (Junior Reserve Officer Training Corp...see the red badge with yellow lettering on the right breast). JR ROTC is a program offered in high schools in the United States. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Junior_Reserve_Officers'_Training_Corps The medals that you see can be earned for various activities or accomplishments in the training program. The one at the lower left part of the picture with the green/dk blue ribbon at the top is an American Legion award. I cannot make out exactly what is on the medal but I have one at home very similar to it. Some of the high school students in my town are decorated as much as [Dragon_Lord05] is. I don't think this picture is fake, just a camera trick to make it look soft which they've been able to do for many years.
