The Land of the Elves
Silver-blue shadows,
Ancient gold trees,
Emerald green meadows,
Wind in the leaves.
Myriad stars
In an ebony sky;
Listen, my friend,
To the nightingale's cry.
Runes in the woodwork
And life in the stone;
Harpers give moonlight
A dance of its own.
Hundreds of voices
Lifted in song;
Tranquility reigns
Amongst the throng.
Perpetual beauty
And elven grace.
Mingling together
In the melody's pace.
White marble buildings,
Catch the moon's sacred light
As the river's strong current
Roars in its might.
Amid silver-blue shadows,
And ancient gold trees,
Emerald green meadows,
With the wind in the leaves.
The Ghost Town
Ashes and brimstone,
Fire and earth,
Sighs in the windsong,
No wood in the hearth.
Skeleton buildings
Reaching up to the sky,
Silence is chilling,
Vultures will fly.
Stealth—creepi No one in the street— No sound but the creaking of old wooden beams. The market is bare. No one but the wind The Silence grows stronger… Ashes and brimstone, Skeleton buildings, Crystal depths Spinning, All emotions trapped Slipping, Heart-wrenchin Turning, Agony sleeps Screaming, Love ever-lasting Basking, From a dark brown eye Dripping, Another falls— Gripping, You give in Fighting, Now you're crying The darkness that holds me, I try to flee its dungeons The petals fall perpetually The light is just above me Tears fall into a river I try to venture nearer So I fall back into shadow Back to Magic Realms Poetry
None but the mice
Left to live in the hollows…
A foul throw of the dice.
The silence grows badly—
No ringing of feet
In the dark and cold alley.
No sound but the cawing of a crow's endless screams.
The hush is foreboding.
No one is there.
Feel hatred and loathing.
To pass through the town;
No one at the inn
Throwing drinks down.
It's left all alone.
None can bear it no longer…
Into darkness it's thrown.
Fire and earth,
Sighs in the windsong,
No wood in the hearth.
Reaching up to the sky,
Silence is chilling,
Vultures will fly.
Tear-drop Diamonds
In a tear-drop diamond.
Silver stars
In a tear-drop diamond.
Swirling,
Titling,
Whirling…
In a tear-drop diamond.
Countless waters tapped
To a tear-drop diamond.
Sliding,
Bleeding,
Crying…
In a tear-drop diamond.
Times of change
In a tear-drop diamond.
Crashing,
Yearning,
Lasting…
In a tear-drop diamond.
Tenacity keeps
In a tear-drop diamond.
Burning,
Changing,
Learning…
In a tear-drop diamond.
Bruised and bashing,
Then, a tear-drop diamond.
Stalling,
Lashing,
Falling…
Falls a tear-drop diamond.
Sleek and sly
Is the tear-drop diamond.
Dropping,
Hurting,
Stopping…
A tear-drop diamond.
Sorrow calls
The tear-drop diamond.
Losing,
Slipping,
Choosing…
To the tear-drop diamond.
Letting win
The tear-drop diamond.
Shielding,
Trying,
Yielding…
A sea of tear-drop diamonds.
Darkness That Holds Me
Wraps around me tight,
It can still control me,
Barring my wings from flight.
But I just can’t get away
Into fire it plunges—
Night never turns to day.
Fall is always near
Turning the blackened lily
Into a diamond tear.
Just above my reach--
The darkness still can snub me.
What lesson does this teach?
Of tenacity and pain.
The lion kills his keeper
O’er and o’er again.
To the lovely glow.
But I see as I get closer—
The rends and tears it shows.
Too fearful of the light.
And the darkness comes to hold me
Barring my wings from flight.
