Madrumah, it’s races and mentalities, are very various. Due to historical background, culture and nature of each respective race. In any other way, I as the Gamesmaster will take care lastly, before any adventure ( based upon your chosen characters ), to provide a good condition for team spirit, balance and dynamical tension inbetween the individual PC‘s. I am already clear about any constructive and stimulating dynamics of a group and about no-go’s concerning that: A majority of traditional aboriginals from Madrumah – fey, elven, goblins and wood spirits – and one very conservative – or even aboriginal hostile – human would for example not function. A fey or elven who strictly follows the old way to live, one goblin who is open to modern times and a dwarven warrior, passionately standing for the goal to stop Madrumah’s ruin This depends on the race, profession, allignment and characterwise attitude of single PC then. And should some character be in the minority as a ‚strife factor‘ I will discuss with the player, to modify him in reasonable scope, to guarantee a good adventure and also future one’s. I will only go by ALLIGNMENT and ALLIGNMENT IMMEDIATELY DEPENDANT ON THE RACE AND PROFESSION, THEN! Unallowed PLAIN EVIL allignment is defined as rude, destructive, cunning, viscious or mean by higher, or extreme degree. The following specifications of allignment classes have been designed, in order to give a basical loose scope to orientate about, how characters of the world could act - allignmentwise And especially important for very dark and violent PC, PC who embody special races like for example the night elves, or want to follow a profession near to the occult or black magic – belonging then to the own ‚shady‘ alligment class of Madrumah. Players of ‚shady‘ characters would be classically those with professions such as professional killer or assassin, sorcerors and witches of their own societies, partly also using more occult powers of magic ( partly also abled in curses and harm spells ), or characters who want to walk the path of shadow on other ways, with slightly chaotic, vampiric or demonic aspect – and unto the line where a possible ‚shady‘ allignment reaches: Good: - religiously good, kind heartedly, lawful or rebellously good Neutral: - w/o religious belief or political attitude, hedonistical, liberally or open / tolerant ‘Shady‘ - selfish, cool, unpredictable and ‚against all odds‘ ( in order to reach his goals ) Unallowed Plain Evil allignment - Viscious, without responsibility and conscience, killing and shedding blood, robbing and acting violent, only for satisfaction, lust, or entirely for own personal material or worldly profits; Using pure black magic, pure chaos magic, pure occult demonic or undeath magic / necromancy; Acting cruel, randomly, unpredictable and selfish; Lacking any decency, cultural ethics, moral or persuasions and knowing no rules to make halt before breaking laws of a society, or basic rules downlaying fundamental good and evil; Acting despite the natural given ability to feel sympathy, mercy and social bondage to others; Acting despite rules of pure common sense and minimum degree of decency; Acting without the least spark of humanity that is given to any sentient being with a soul; Main Allignment Classes ( Good, Neutral and ‚shady‘ ) - Good: Religiosly good are PC who only folow the rules of their gods, belief, higher ethics and moral, or fundamentally good attitudes of humanistic nature. Politically good PC strive in their lives prorily after ideals of peace, welfare of their own race and culture, good conditions to live and quality of life in sense of enough food, wealth and convenience for all races of the world. Kindheartedly goods are humanists and lovers of creation and all living beings by nature. They just have a heart of gold, can’t see sentient beings suffer or nature be harmed, basic human rights of freedom and equality, and values of respect towards creation and Menschenwürde broken. All their actions are led by sympathy, benevolence and helpfulness. While shady deeds or plain evil is alien and not thinkable to do for them. Lawful goods try to be good and modest citizens / part of their social environment or political system, and believe in justice, in a sense of common sense and reason, and man made rules of behaviour, manner and where to draw the line inbetween criminiality and extreme breaking of the law in other ares, as killing, raping or other acts of other kinds of such violence. Criminality which is rather harmless and criminality that is purely asocial, doing harm to the wrong one’s or of cost of others, who would not deserve it. While violence in all it’s forms is in the opinion of lawful goods not only a committed crime, but also a border crossing in basic fundamental rules of human civilisation ( even if in cases only as practicle ‚unwritten‘ law of modesty ) It is possible that a thief, fighter or even warrior, fraud or maker of illegal businesses would be lawful good. In motivation to defend himself or also to defend his goals, religion or own culture, to follow political persuasions, act in the name of justice and virtue, or use violence only because his profession is based on it. ( Adaptability, will for constructivism Rebellous goods can be kind hearted, religiously or politically good or lawful, but decided to also fight for their values. They will be in a fix to accord this fight to their individual personal belief, but whatever their belief or attitude is will be priority in al their actions. Neutral: Neutrals generally live, think and act by the rule: Live and let live. Neutrals without political attitude or religios belief are passive in situations when they feel the weaker are defeated by the stronger, or the good by evil – But that only because they are no real big idealists. Hedonistical neutrals only strive for fun, pleasure, and comfort and gain and profits for themselves in their own life. Liberally open / tolerant neutrals act on a basis of judgement without looking at the person. The liberally open / tolerant neutral PC will react to a dirty beggar, gypsy or bum ( or also follower of a ‚dirty‘ and ‚low‘ profession ) the same way as to a stylish nobleman, or to a racially charisma radiating person as an elf. Therefore a liberally open / tolerant neutral generally only goes by personal likes and dislikes, according to his own characteristic nature. ‚Shady‘: A selfish shady PC as classical case would be a thief, stopping before no law, or: material harm or disadvantage done to others, a bounty hunter who is only after the money ( in order to survive himself and make a living ) A cool shady PC is neutral in a way, like the attitude- and beliefless or hedonistic neutral, but non-chalantly maintaining style and class in any situation. The cool shady one won’t twitch a lid to kill someone if provoked, challenged or situationwise seeming the right way to act in a current, maybe tensioned situation. As priority he is proud and maybe also a bit vain and would never risk to lose his face before others. The unpredictable shady is only led by his moods and random impulses. He can follow very well a belief or attitude – or also be selfish, open or even good. He is categorized as ‚shady‘ because he is a very contradictiona Which makes them never appear clear and obvious. But rather contributes to their reputation as obscure, suspiscious or even dubious strangers ( always seeming to hide a part of themselves before others ) Unpredictables behave equally to hot tempered Kirrn-elves, with less self discipline, or slightly tending towards the dark and unfathomable introverted nature of a Dawn- or Nightelf. So, they have the full spectrum to act as they like to and feel like, mainly, inbetween diversest areas of good, neutral and shady classes. They try to hold themselves still to a rule of balance in the last consequence – and by all extremes. An unpredictable shady PC oftenly has no real clear single great goal in his life. This makes him restless and sometimes even haunts him. He tries many things out, and shies neither the darker nor the light side – also of magic. Some others keep a spark of hope in their hearts, and are driven by their strong ambition, those consider fate as an enemy, and work of a test or even torment, they have to overcome somehow ( out of own power ) Unpredictable shadies are mostly high intelligent, but not in own ability and condition to direct, focus and really use their intelligence efficiently. Their physical resistance in the opposite is extra-ordinari They tend to an unregular way of life, unorderly sleep or even being nocturnal, excess and chaotic lifestyle. Some even build compulsions, strange habits and relation to forbidden lores and heretic books. And their rows also fill the circles of assassins, spies, mystics, agents and professional murderers / cut-throats as recruits. Only mentalism is still not so their area, normally. ‚Against all odds‘ shady PC can also have good or neutral general alligments. What they all have in common is that they know / feel almost no points to stop before things. If they are good, they will range inbetween fierceful ( and militant ) humanists, or those defending law and order, and almost fanatic religious extremists / rebellous outlaws, killing and conquering enemies of their gods or belief / everybody standing on the opposite camp of their own political attitude, if it has to be. If they are neutral, they could be a selfish hedonist, so self-centered, that he makes no halt also to spend a ‚blood toll‘ or risk to it, in order to reach his personal goals, follow his profession, or even to satisfy his lusts and desires only, for example as a thief longing for wealth or a mage trying to delve deeper into any realm of magic, to enwiden his power. But a shady PC ‚against all odds‘ always has a concrete, or even tangible goal, he wants to reach. ( In the total opposite to the unpredictable shady one or attitudeless neutral ) Any other neutral allignments as attitudeless or open / tolerant will not come in question as shady character against all odds. All those shady characters will still always scrape the edge of plain evil allignment and are constantly endangered for this reason, to fall victim to their own goals, or obsessions, to become a creature of the darkness or chaos completely, or: in another extreme case also to die. Reasons that could lead a PC to plain evil: - Committing a severe deed contradictiona 1) in violation of own belief, persuasion, views of decency and moral or acting against the will of his gods or his representants; 3) Run to seed as a cheat, fraud or thief, pirate or rogue, due to insult of the ‚crook honour‘, careless foolishness or coming across the politics of guilds, groups, societies or single other individuals due to trait, murder, great pain and suffering caused, or ‚gotten into clinch with the wrong one‘; - Committing a severe deed harming the integrity of the group of adventurers in any way; or bringing the whole enterprise into danger by sheer folly carelessness; - Even bringing the whole enterprise to failure by intention or harming another group member severely; - Killing another member of the group. 1 ) Being severely unloyal towards the group / Bringing the quest into danger by sheer folly carelessness and by his or her own fault entirely; 2) Bringing the common quest and it’s sucessful fulfilling to fail by intention / sabotage or harming another member of the group severely; 3) Killing another member of the group; - Rules about forbidden plain evil allignment: A rebellous good, hedonistical neutral, selfish, cool, unpredictable shady or shady against all odds has to follow these rules to be suitable to be a character of an adventure group – ( also defining the term of ‚plain evil allignment a bit more exactly ): 1) The integrity of the PC group is priority and has to be respected by all means. So it is also plausible, that even culturally or racially, politically or religiously controversial or even hostile PC will always have in mind, to keep the morale of the group in good condition 2) You should work together as PC – if your PC likes it or not, at first. And secondly you are also almost equal to an ambassador and neutral ally to each other. 3) There are at the same time old, historically related dislikes of races amongst each other are given by the world conception. But an orc will have prejudices against nature belief of all other Madrumahnian natives – For woods, life in the woods, little fey folk, goblins and pixies aren't the cup of tea for orcs. But then again orcs also lead an earh related shaman culture society. By natures of races, Madrumah races are partly very different. An orc will have difficulties to warm up with an elf ( because an orc’s nature is totally different, more direct and gruff and sociable than a proud, warm but reserved and distanced approaching elf. ) A Yamaatu Wing Elf might seem arrogant, cocky and pompous to a simple orc ( or even other simple mind without highly educated culture ) One challenge of the development of the PC group is therefore the communing. Getting the others better to know, becoming familiar with him and his culture’s customs and beliefs. They could begin to argue about their gods and try to express why their god / gods are so much 'cooler' than yours. The one’s in the know about deeper religion might start to tell tales of tradition and history. The elf about the spring of their kind, the awaking of the new light in the pre-historical and ancient world, as former dark place of fire, storm, ice and earth, savagely chaotic with raw elements, hostile to life and filled with eternal shadow, as it was before in old times while the giant world drake was yet sleeping – and before the Lords of Aether and Astral Energy – the MYSTRA‘ELL then entered the world. Brought consciousness and light and life giving fruition to the world. Which only population were the dragons, giants, alfaar and oldest gods of earth, water and elements, yet. A kirrnic wood elf, Madrumahnian or ranger or other follower of ‚The Old Religion‘ of the world might also tell about the noble seven ways of yonder light. The orc about their own customs as shamanic warriors, and his personal favourite god. The human – depending on the country he comes from and it’s own historical background - about the old – old greek like – beliefs in gods and mythology of the Elcaarea culture, the – old roman like - beliefs of the Éadain he heard of, the - celtic like - old belief of Bannelon or also the new, coming up and wide spread church of light many mortal humans and what he himself thinks about all that other religions. The dwarf will surely count the dignified and heroic bloodline of his own family tree back, and praise his ancestors. Speak of the great war of gods, when his kind repented in remorse, as the giant world dragon, their so beloved and dear creator god, was slain by a Dawnae earth god – who was destined to fall to evilness and corrupted darkness from this act on. And when the the dwarves finally bathed in the godly dragon‘s blood then, in demonstration of their mourn, deep grief, humility and onlasting loyalty. And then they all smoke a peace pipe together. The Catling challenges the orc to a traditional lotting game like: Paper, Scissors, fire, stone and well. 4) All the PC are instructed by their respective assigner to work out their quest the quickest, most efficient and safe as they can. So your quest also includes to: - Stay peaceful amongst each other - Maintain or even embetter the inter-racial relationships - Report back all what you found out about other PC’s – Their supposed own mission and your own opinion about him or her in matters of loyality and being trustworthy - Neither endanger the enterprise itself nor endanger the attempt of fighting Terromage, in general, or the specific special purposes of the quest - Not blab out things, some others should not know in the very beginning ( For example if it is about the secret part of your personal instructions and orders ) An experienced rp gamer will know, that it is rule to behave in such areas as everybody in the ‚real world‘ also would. To break such orders of your quest can turn out to the good or the bad for you. ( And for the quest itself ) If you only heed the old elftown rule to not be an asshole, and a possible shady group member might cause some trouble, there will be ways to handle that. Only don’t exaggerate the harsh or rude behaviour of your character, don’t bash each other’s head in and don’t sow discord willingly. That is about it. Rules for vulgar speech, insults and modern slang speech: ( Only for those who really will cuss real bad, or all others who look for a bit of fun in the later own Madrumah cuss and curse word section ) Some modern slang / faecal speech cuss words, vulgar speech and special words of extremely undecent and unappropriate language are not desired to be used in Madrumah as player of a character. Insults and cuss words are of course part of the world. But these words in it’s most nasty, discriminating and vulgar forms belong to speech, only used by very few, very evil characters, and characters of the world who are extremely nasty, discriminating If your own character urgently wants to insult other characters in the adventure, please rather choose mid-eival equivalents in option to what you’d maybe think first to, related to the year 2007 and the here and now. Be creative! And invent some new personal cuss or swearword from a fictious Fantasy language suitable to your character which spontaneously comes to your mind – because this could then mean ANYTHING without cause an awkward stir, insulting other players rudely or not fitting into the world Madrumah. Besides these handleings for insults, vulgar / faecal speech and rude, aggressive or offending language, drastic and continuing modern slang speech of very own specific nature is also not very desired in Madrumah roleplaying adventures. Typical and common swear words, cusses, slangwords and insults of the world: A Fantasy world without orcs mocking at elves, evil creatures without nasty language, wizards without pithy curses and cusses and in lack of an own slang, cuss and swear word speech would not be complete, lively, authentical and realistic. As long as the swearwords, cusses and curses are more of harmless nature, witty, mideival-like pompous ( and therefore even rather funny ), or suiting to the world, and not really insulting players, then please feel free to also swear, cuss and curse. But in order to give a better impression of this special cultural area of the world, I collected some typical and common main cuss and swear words, partly also insults, each race of the world knows and uses in situations whenever it is required. So, to characterize the individual cultures a bit more, and to give an idea of the scope of severity of insults depending on each specific race, I give examples of curses, cusses and insults in the following, also as suggestions for free usuage by players, in course of the adventures in Madrumah, for all who desire to. Evil Kobold’s: ( worst swearers, insulters and cussers of the world ) ‚Dreckentopp!‘ Orc’s: ( having a very stamped and long tradition of their own cuss and swear language and are the secondly worst one’s concerning undecent speech ) First grade of severity: ‚Mûr-Ushabb!‘ Second, highest grade of severity: ‚Wolfmilk sucking bastard!‘ Orcish cusswords: ‚Shúad!‘ Humans: ( The third worst swearers, cussers and cursers of the world, and most richest of cuss and swear word vocabularities in number and diversity ) most common and usual human cusses and swears: Damn! / Darn! ‚Confounded – insert name of person or thing that is to be confounded –‚ Insults with severity grade one: ‚You bloody / rotten fool!‘ Insults with severity grade two: ‚You wretch!‘ ‚You pain in the neck!‘ miscellenous others: ‚Rascal, Shark / Cutthroat, Tramp, rabble, skinflint, old miser, ignorant, know-it-all / smart-aleck / smarty pants, old dodderer, odd bird, wry figure, weirdo, freak, living mummy, affected stork, old owl with glasses, old hag, strange sort, exotic bird / paradise bird, flatterer, poison tongue, swindler, fraud, traitor, cheat, liar, pest, gas bag, chatter box, driveller, windbag, old gossip, waffler, sissy, whimp, drip, chickenchest, poor shirt, linnet; Arrogant / enflated rooster, old clucking hen, vain peacock / strut about like like a peacock, soaky limp flannel, failure, Hang Around, Hangdog, Hounddog, wash-out, deadloss, ‚female‘ ‚woman‘, ‚daughter of eve‘, ‚hussy‘, Evil / viscious / wagging tongue, shameless / infamous / wicked / dissolute / profligate / corrupt / honourless / moral-less / indecent person, blasphemer / sinful creature, block-head, twit, nut, feeble minded one, pimp, scamp, loafer / vagabond, idler, ink blotter, wrinkle head, shrunken head, scarecrow, drunkard, beggar, hobo, unlucky fool, lazybones, bringer of bad news / bad tidings, worm of bad luck, pitiful one, gypsy soul, vagrant, stray, hypocrite; Haggler, philistine, wretched woman, cheeky cow, brat, vixen, tricky thing, hoodlum, hooligan, vulture, carrion fly, scavenger, smoothie, thievish magpie, deceiftul fox, breed of the devil, ugly old well-toad, muck of a fly, pauper, greedy bag, dog’s breed, lout, ruffian, uncouth bloke / guy / chap, dreadful / impossible person, brainless boor, shaky bag of bones; Suggestions for more extensive insults and witty terms: ‚You have got some screw loose!‘ ‚Seems like you once fell down the stairs as child!‘ ‚I think the gods have created you in some very weird mood!‘ ‚Big mouth and big words, but nothing to it!‘ ‚I think you as a closet philosopher are driving screws through thinnest boards all day!‘ VERY evil human curses, only used in fiercely anger ( or after great harm or pain done, in revenge ) ‚Shame on you!‘ Halflings: ( The Catlings good and witty swearers, mostly using swear and cuss words of human origin, the Twickrascals and Trelld’s more harmless and lesser bad swearers and cussers ) ‚You old lousy bum!‘ ‚Good for Nothing!‘ ‚Petty Minded Soul!‘ ‚False Dog!‘ Dwarven: ( dwarven don’t cuss or swear ) The most insulting, impactful and utter insult of the world is – as also in our own world – a racial insult. Discriminating the insulted one in his dignity, in his culture, in himself and his honour deeply, and hurting his pride by highest degree. These special words and terms will only be used to provoke someone other of a different race, to high rage and anger, by means in disgracing and libleing his skin colour, physical figure, political or race related allignment, religion oder origin. All these racially related insults are mostly very nasty, vulgar, racistic and evil. But for racial discrimination is still an evil, that is part of the world Madrumah as well as part of our own world, and might appear in course of adventures partly, as for example in big cities, where few single taverns - lead by very mean and Madrumah hostile humans - expose signs saying like: ‚Savages, little jinxed vermin and wood squirts not allowed to enter!‘ - Insulting an elven Kirrn wood elf utterly contemptuous in his honour: ‚wood squirt‘ or - ironically / cynically depreciatory: 'pointy ears' - Insulting an orc utterly contemptuous in his honour: ‚pagan greenling / blackling‘ - Insulting a night elf utterly contemptuous in his honour: ‚blueface‘ - Insulting a high Yamaatu Wing Elf utterly contemptuous in his honour: ‚Mule eared snob!‘ - Insulting a magical tiny winged fairy utterly contemptuous in her honour: ‚moth‘, ‚strange little insect‘, ‚awkward glowflies‘, Insulting a tiny pixy or fey goblin utterly contemptuous in his honour: ‚jinxed feeble‘, ‚jinxed weakling‘, ‚jinxed thumbling‘ - Insulting a halfling utterly contemptuous in his honour: ‚mean midget‘, ‚half portion‘‚ ‚troll‘, ‚wight‘s‘ - Insulting aboriginal Madrumahnian’s in general, Kirrn elves or wood creatures utterly contemptuous in their honour: ‚savage‘s‘ - Insulting an evil Kobold utterly contemptuous in his honour: Insulting a human barbarian from the east utterly contemptuous in his honour: ‚squinting eastling‘ Insulting an earth gnome or gnoll ( or underground creature ) utterly contemptuous in his honour: ‚Ugly doddery troll‘ Insulting a dwarf with shell-like natural body armour utterly contemptuous in his honour: ‚Ugly black crustacean‘ - Insulting a wolf knight of Daarhall utterly contemptuous in his honour: ‚arrogant wolvish beast in false skin‘ - Insulting a giant utterly contemptuous in his honour ( not recommended ): ‚Carcass eating monster!‘ Insulting a cyclop man utterly contemptuous in his honour: ‚Round-eye!‘ - Insulting a moon elf utterly contemptuous in his honour: ‚whitemug‘ - Insulting a dragon utterly contemptuous in his honour ( not recommended ): ‚horned, winged maggot‘ - Insulting a little friendly troll utterly contemptuous in his honour: ‚silly, tailed savage apeman / dirty and lousy fur-beast‘ - Insulting a Talaunian hunchback goblin utterly contemptuous in his honour: ‚hunchback‘ - Insulting a Catling halfling utterly contemptuous in his honour: ‚whisker‘ ( ironically / cynically depreciatory ) - Insulting a robot ( to all those robots in capacity to SUSS the meaning of an insult and owning any kind of own intelligence, or also rather in talk about them, generally, without any robot present ): ‚stupid tin-can‘ Insulting a speaking animal utterly contemptuous in his honour: Insulting a human utterly contemptuous in his honour: Insulting a tail-monkey like but partly civilized Kerrish Treetop Bogey utterly contemptuous in his honour: ‚hypers‘ Insulting a giant spider utterly contemptuous in her honour: Insulting a very pale and unhealthy looking persons as vampires and crow people: A halfling‘s or little folk’s own contemptuous word to the bigger folk: ‚clumsies‘, ‚tall poverty‘, ‚beanpoles‘ Professionwise terms and own words being common as contemptuous insults: - To Wizards and Magicians of the magic ring / wizard’s guild: - To monks, priests, clergymen, ministers or chaplains:

For the reason that all members of the group still always follow the same goal – even if by different reasons or by different instructions - I am convinced that the integrity and good climate of the group will be assured.
So as a TOO contradictiona
( and a nightelven out casted, whose hate towards the common enemy ( Terromage ) and it’s Lord Darkspawn himself is not any lesser ) could then again perfectly interact together – without any strife or trouble.
If you insist on playing a shady and dark character, or even a character with tendency to evilness, or for example a character whose race, profession and / or allignment brings it along to kill people only to make a living - or to follow some religious or political goal with it - that would at first be no reason to not allow him or her.
To kill without reason, purpose or nesessarity. Or to use pure black sorcery, of any kind and magic realm.
A plain evil allignment can result from the natural tendency to evil of a race, it can result from the nature of a society or culture, or from the backgrounds of a land, state or country which’s inhabiting races are historically based to be followers of plain evil.
May it be in form of chaos, unlife, cultural / sacrifical worshipping of evil demons, occult belief to evil gods, using black sorcery, necromancy and warlock magic only in order to distort, destroy, corrupt or kill blindly and out of pure malice - Or in form of a profession, following such plain evil.
To explain how the unallowed plain evil allignment – and the nature of deeds of plain evil is exactly defined.
Giving opportunity to any player, to also be a special specimen of a dark, shady, or even rather evil - or also physically very violent or cruel race.
Pure plain evil, chaos worshipping, visciously shedding of blood without any conscience, and characters of entirely destructive and corrupted nature, being designed plain evil as character, or acting plain evil.
Who are all beyond that line.
And therefore classified as alligment not allowed for players to start with – nor allowed to change over to, over time.
Cold-heartedne
Working or fighting for Terromage, in names of evil, or purely destructive and cruel gods, in party of an evil race, culture or society;
Being fanatic, in destructive, cruel and harming ways.
( Self-Sacrifice
And try to weaken and defy evil and harming forces, unjustice or cruelty, profits based on poverty, pain and exploitation by others.
And long to make the world a better place, by own political works and deeds.
( Natural altroism = tending to care more for others than himself or seeing values in simple virtues )
But this would include, that he still follows a ‚crook honour‘, uses physical violence and kills other people only under appropriate circumstances as war, feud or defence of constructive, reasonable or idealistic approach, and otherwise only if exclusively necessary:

And cherishes no fear of contact, towards foreigners, yet unknown races and cultures - surroundings or mileus which he is not familiar with, and is only angered if provoked or disturbed.
Or to even get rich at the expense of other or to make profits onto costs of others.
How tough and brutal he still ever is configurated, he is constantly inbetween selfish shady and neutral belief- and attitudeless as the utter extremes.
But that swings.
Oftenly these types of shadies are not too popular to have around over longer times, closely, or make very reliable friends.
Just as they are feared by people who not know them personally yet even deeper than the cool ones – At latest after one of the temper attacks of a unpredictable shady character, or also after wild mood swings to the good side, suddenly ( although the others first thought, that he is the ‚tough guy‘ or villain )
But still the unpredictable shady one’s are above it all.
No matter if they are human, dwarf or even – naturally normally sociable and friendly – halfling or fey, they always show another new side to themselves and do not really care about the reaction and opinion of others about what they do.
They are instinct driven and impulsive, and seldomly act after a cool head, ratio, common sense or rules.
Their two most significant characteristic ways and strongest main habits are still extroverted aggression ( in a sudden outburst sometimes ) or more introverted maliciousness.
If they did some bad or feel remorse about a deed or action, or for example just caused a riot that went out of control, they will try to calm down again, get passive, or even decide to then again act helpful, suddenly and to settle the conflict of the respective involved persons.
( To relent themselves to the voice of the good angel on their left shoulder, making himself hearable, in such situations )
He is oftenly rather restless instead, looking for something worth to exist for, higher than the daily purposes life has to offer.
He unconsciously tends to hide a strong longing for religion, persuasion, one profession which he really is suited to and makes his skills and nature flourish, a useful or satisfying task or settled fixed personal code to make his life easier.
Tries to collect experiences, to learn, and to gain insights.
Some of them are more pessimistical, and in self doubt, and desperation oftenly, secretly.

For they are way TOO unstable, rash, hot tempered, moody and unconcentrated

And feel close bondage to all underground races that have never been in quarrel with them in the past.
But Kirrn, Yamaatu, and all inhabitants of the woods will feel still like a family – united in love to their homeland and to the woods – and following the same gods, leaders and religions –
Unless they are civilized and denying their actual true origin at the same time.
Imagine for example a human, an elf or an orc ( and a dwarf ) sit down by the camp-fire and begin to tell about their lives.
Begin to explain their attitudes and beliefs ( or philosophy )
( Maybe also touching politics of the world if desired )
( Whereover the dwarves actually received their shell-like horn skin, rigid in combat and almost immune to diseases )
Or: A catling has a little rifle with an orc about a jewel they both claim. If no other PC interferes and soothes the rifle, they might decide to lot / duel out, who gets it, by their racial or personal strongest abilities.
Or the orc insists on a trial of strengh or courage.
Everybody shall return alive and by health.
And no sudden new upraging racial feud shall be caused, only because an orc maybe lost his patience towards a cheeky fairy or impish speaking animal sent by the wizard’s ring.
If a halfling befriends with an orc – why ever – he might let him in a many things in a mood, due to alcohol his physical conditione does strictly considered not agree to, or just out of high spirits and carelessness.
Nobody knows for sure about such things.
But that is also the clue as we know.
Not only because this is totally superfluous and unneccessary and rather annoying, it can also create a bad climate in the player community and the group of their characters. And does - maybe most importantly – also not fit into a Fantasy world.
As especially very vulgar and offensive insults, being explicitly directed to underneath the waistline, of extreme nasty or respectless nature - or simply lowest level.
And are otherwise only tolerated for players as really utter insult, only justified in an appropriate situation as exception and special case with plausible background and reason / motive for this.
And please also try to not switch your brain off, while letting your PC swear, cuss and use slang speech real bad.
Instead of those cusses and faecal speech words being not desired here, try to select words of rather witty and pithy ‚Fantasy old style slang‘.
( Or also use one suggestion given in the own cuss, swear word and insult section below, containing all typical and most common racial and cultural words and terms of such kind. )
I don’t think that I have to explain this. To not destroy the atmosphere, authentical flair and mood of a Fantasy world like this, a player should try to not articulate himself by language really not appropriate to the Fantasy genre.

The big other part and all the other rest about allignments and such was already long hand written.
But last night I spent hours and hours thumbing english dictionaries like a berserk, to translate all that words of cuss and insult.
( In as most equal meaning as in the german original ideas - and trying hard, to re-ensure, that none of that words will actually be even worse then the ones I explicitly forbid in the base rules before. )
Heh heh, but, yes, I like mid-eival like cusses and insults.
They are so much wittier, pithier and elegant than stupid modern slang insults.
( And to be true my favourite race in the moment - although totally cruel, barbaric, cunning and evil - are the Kobolds. )
I even hatched up some own shamanic 'majick kobold orackle' including person names, runespells and animal totems in form of an artefact, which a kobold shaman would use to oracle over secret magical meanings of Kobold names in relation to their related animal spirit, and of complex nature ( in some very strange mood ) recently.
It was the fun of my life, though!
