Another thing I always adored in another set of old encyclopaedias were the illustrations of entries like "insect" and "tropical plant" where they had a whole page or more of colour illustrations of different kinds of plants or insects or whatever, just one next to another in no particular order. And they looked stunning like that, next to each other, precious like a complete collection of scientific interest. So this drawing evolved into my collection of machines.
