Common Humans –
Common Humans are absolutely no rare encounter anymore, in Madrumah –eversince they already spreaded out all over the whole country, for longer time, yet! The human domains and their cities have got the feature of a special flair of pulsating bustle, for that reason, are full of life and tumult, a true melting pot of all most contradictiona Places of rough law of fist, and tough customs, and at the same time a total contradiction to the peaceful and original places of the deep forests and their inhabitants! As human one should be aware and conscious, that he might not be very popular, amongst traditional aboriginal people. Maybe because they – of all other races and folks – are the most likely to humans in a certain way. Humans partly have command over magic, partly also over technology, and all humans are free to use weapons and magic powers. Special Kinds Of Humans: - Dragon Champions Of Daevralaz ( still to be described ) - Demon-Whale riding Pirates and Sea-Travellers of Wûtaan The demon-whale riders are human’s of an old viking-like culture of conquerers and robbers of the seas. Unmistakable is that they wear special beard styles, artfully woven to braids, or locks, simple linen tunic’s, animal fur collars or stole wraps etc. and style their head hair to strange hair do’s like rooster combs, Mohawks, bald shaved skull etc. ) For they are bound in pact with some specific monsters and creatures of the ocean, they are able to control the so called ‚demon whales‘. And – even if they are also good and well-schooled sailors, seamen and navigators, they oftenly are riding these huge sea mammals, when they are out harpooning, or travelling from place to place – instead of using a small boat for example – ‚going by whale‘ then. Their unique skills about falconry enables them, adding that up, to use birds of prey as familiars also, just like as well osprey eagles, hawks etc. It is practise among those to pierce or cut out or blind one own eye, in order to come closer to their god Skorrpiah / Skorpius, The Horned Thundergod of the horizon and the skies ( where the sea and the air is meeting ) The Whaleriders live on the western island continent of Wûtaan and sail from there out, in order to make predetory attacks along the coasts around ( east and south ) but they also follow agri-culture, trade and ‚half-legal‘ businesses, like smugglery, buccaneering, claiming colonies for behalf of others, and slave trade. - The Humans of An-Muul The desert nomadic humans of An-Muul are mainly looking like ordinary humans, how they are also to find in other places of the world. The Black Unicorn Baron, a black-skinned king with fey or demon blood in his veins, featured with a single long and drilled horn springing from the middle of his forehead was once their lord. After the temptation and downfall of the Baron, and the civil brother war of both nations following then, long and fiercely, the humans of An-Muul, their Lord and their whole knighthood still went to seed. While the place Moddron was now known as cursed City of The Black Chasms, and full of wailing and whining, suffering An-Muulian’s stroke with diseases and hunger, almost ghostly figures of sadness, sometimes stroke completely white like an albino, sometimes all black or otherwise mutated, cherishing a self-devouring kind of hate towards all, who have done that to them. ( still to be described ) Plain evil allignment ( not suited for PC ): - The Evil Men of Zuul-Zúlor The humanoid evil men of Zuul-Zúlor are 1,70m – 1,80m tall, have got light olive-green, until slightly yellowish skin and are completely hairless. Their original ancestral worship goes hand in hand with the more contemporary religion of the Freak Fury Cult and the belief in the words of the Bible Of Horrors, brought to them by Lord Darkspawn of Terromage. Pure evil mages like Necromancers, Warlocks and Dead Summoners, as Demonologists are just as well represented and to be found in their social system as Chaos Warriors, Evil Paladins and Macabre ( joined in the oathbrotherhoo Notorious is despite of that their own armada of flying demon ships, called the ‚Neng-Ships‘ sailing the skies by darkness and misty night, characteristic by the eerie way they are designed like, with grotesque figureheads in form of threatening totem pole motives, demonic grimaces and masks, bat-winged monsters and devils or nightmarish wood carvings of any other kinds. These Neng-Ships symbolize the sky haunting demon hounds of Naught, these humans believe in and follow, as idols, and are indeed maybe synonymous to the terromagian MURKYHAUNT dragons. They dedicate their lives entirely to ‚wake up‘ and manifest that true world, and to reach or connect spiritually to this real world by any means. The evil men of Zuul-Zúlor are very corrupt and easy to make aggressive in anger, for this reason, and furthermore characterized to be moody, unpredictable and introverted.
They live especially in northern regions, mainly in Oslivan, Bannelon, Yadmelvan and Espen, Dulvia and Vrinh, and furthermore only especially by high numbers in Lyriad and Darchaaria.
Humans mostly follow the business of a scout, fighter or rogue, if they are adventurers.
The majority of the other humans are in any other way only just simply and plainly ordinary settlers, as it is fact.
But you should think to the ‚wild west‘ in order to imagine a typical human in Madrumah's big cities:
Desperado’s, Bounty Hunters, Cheat Card Players, Crossbow-pisto
Seldomly an elf or fairyman, wight or Kobold will make friends with a foreign human, or even begin to trust him, really.
Races like the catlings make an exception here.
Or maybe also, because catlings oftenly make profits and live from humans, being near to them and their businesses!
But still it will be at first all limited powers, over which a human commands – in matters of magic at least.
>As first provisional description of this race / cult, please look in the SEMI SPELL USER SECTION in: Madrumah Professions under 'Dragon Champions of Daevralaz' / 'Drac Warriors'.
They are around 1,80 m tall, hairy and equipped with beefy and well-nourished bodyshape
( due to their almost excessive consume of met, wine and beer and fat food, over their famous and oppulent feast meals )
Their eyes vary inbetween grey, blue and green ( and seldomly black ) but their hair is blonde, brown or red, still. ( That have got the peculiarity to fade to snow white in rash time of age )
Moreover it is usual tradition – especially amongst old sea-devils - to polish their natural teeth to pointed crocodile fangs.
While they wear special ceremonial headbands with protecting magic, instead of helmets or hats, generally... Or – as another option - head-rims, crowns or diadems, when they go on privateer looting...
Just like similar cultures once tamed wolves for domestic animals, the pirates and sea travellers of Wûtaan achieved to tame these whales, representing a mix breed of sharks and orca’s in fact, and made an art out of the action to ‚ride‘ on their backs then, only some inches over the water surfaces.
They send them for delivering messages and use them as spies and exploring eyes also, partly, especially among their class of mystic seers.
And they ressemble the ceremonial witch doctors of the Wûtaan, equally high standing as elseways only the robber kings and pirate lords, along the blood lines of the one’s earned the most glory and reputation of them.
( following the Black Unicorn Baron )
Their appearance is darker, than the more northern human would show, having dark, sometimes curled up, hair and dark eyes, and they are indeed the brother people of the wolfknights of Daarhall and the one’s they rule over originally.
And his court in his strange palace the middle of the desert was organized like a noble knighthood in a past – acting dignified, loyal and strictly acording to their own code of honour. Along with their ( lighter tanned ) direct noble family line they were also said to be abled as SHAPE-CHANGERS
The humans of An-Muul found themselves isolated and surrounded by stronger enemies to all sides, suddenly.
And by mysterious circumstances, all the former sheikh-like desert knights‘ eyes turned blank white and pupil-less – roaming now without aim as desperate wandering lancers of ‚Restless One’s Without Cause‘ in torn up robes of rags, and obeying an unknown and obscure vow in their lives from then on. Living in repentance, ascecism and poverty, miserable and low as beggars.
The desert of An-Muul itself began to face an eternal and unnatural darkness without the sun ever showing through the clouds, and only some nomads who returned to the old way to live are spared from any punishment or bane. Hiding like living shadows furtively in their familiar surrounding and herding cattle, now. And being aloof from all what has done to the rest of their race. ( Whoever really was responsible for their bitter fate )
- Barbarian Clans of the Flawless Sword of Hadurûn
- Sea-Changeling
- Wild Eastlings of Hadd-Ammoth
- Moon-Warriors / Paladins Of the Moon Druid Priesthood of the holy Daarhallian Moonclock
With cat-like eyes of penetrating green or blue and thin, meager bodies. And they are known as small own occult culture and society, being disciples of diverse anciently archaic demons and gods of chaos and unlife – in this case similar to wraiths.
Mostly they are still a mixture of magician and warrior, as like a warrior mage or monk / assassin.
The evil men of Zuul-Zúlor believe, that the material world is only a state of dream or shadow of an actual, much older and ‚real‘ world, of a long lost past, ( future still to come in endless times ) or also timeless! stage of existence.
May it also be cunning brutality, bloody war enforcement, or trait and conspiracy. They feel no guilt, responsibility or mercy for their foes at all, and lack in touch with anybody else not belonging to their own kin.
So that the Lord Darkspawn used them as tool in his preperations to take over Mystradawn. He only had to speak in the names of their ancestors and gods and to promise them to unite with those and the reality of the original and true world beyond the dreams and nightmares – and the deceptions after their own death – if they only would fall in battle under his banner, in honour and self-sacrifice and in the name of their ‚mission‘. ( And so the evil men quickly recognized him as master, and even religious leader, after he demonstrated his own powers of black sorcery, finally. )
