Welcome to Elftown's Contest for Creative Dreamers!
THIS CONTEST IS CLOSED!
Genres: Art, Photo Manipulations, Poetry, and Prose.
Deadline: November 30, 2009
Mods: [Yuriona], [hanhepi], [Linderel], [Chimes]
1. NO STEALING!
All submitted works must be created by you. No exceptions!
Each member may submit two entries in each genre (category).
3. SUBJECT MATTER:
Works will not be accepted if they feature excessive violence, adult material, disturbing actions or insults, offensive and/or hateful materials. Elftown is an all-age site.
4. IDENTICAL TITLES:
This can happen with creative works. This is acceptable, because the creator's name will be different and posted with their entry.
5. OUR EXPECTATIONS:
We expect an extensive variety of art, writings, and photo manipulations derived from all sorts of dreams of Elftowners. Create an art piece or photo-manip, write a poem or story about your dreams and enter!
6. FOLLOW THE POSTED RULES FOR THE GENRE YOU ARE ENTERING.
Specific rules for each genre are listed on their wiki pages.
7. OLD OR NEW WORKS?
If you have written a story or a poem or have created an art piece that fits this theme, old or new, you are welcome to submit it here as long as it is not currently running in any official
Elftown contest (except the Elftown Creature Marathon
it is ok if it's in that), and it has never won an official
Elftown competition. However, Photo Manipulations must be newly created to match the criteria specified.
8. FOLLOW THE THEME:
All entries not following the theme will be disqualified. The Theme is listed below.
9. VOTE BEGGING:
Participants are not allowed to beg for votes for their own entry. Do not ask people to vote for your entry via private messages, guestbook messages, moods, wikis, or by any other means. Your entry will be disqualified if you are caught doing so
. It is perfectly fine to advertise THE POLL, however.
If you feel any of the entries break the rules, please speak up before the entries make it to the polls. You can still speak up even after the contest is closed, as long as the polls have not yet gone up. Complaints received after the aforementioned will not be considered valid.
11. COMMENT SECTION:
Please limit comments in sections affiliated with this contest to questions and answers regarding this contest. However, we know some would like to chat further about their dreams and so we have made a chat wiki available where you can discuss whatever dreams and things you would like to: Stuff of Dreams
12. HAVE FUN!
Those caught not having fun will be whipped.
All of us dream: some in vivid colour, some in black and white. Some dreams are bright and joyful while others are dark and fearful. Whether these dreams happen in our sleep or during a waking moment when our thoughts wander into fancy, many of our dreams are a source of inspiration for us artists, writers, and even photo manipulators. Our dreams infiltrate our conscious thoughts in a variety of ways and since these dreams vary in an endless number of possibilities, we look forward to an endless number of entries!
Please note however that the dreams we are mentioning are those seen when the subconscious mind takes over, rather than dreams of hopes and aspirations. Save those dreams for the next contest. ;)
