Also, if everyone joining the contest is having an eye on the forums, changes and other news can be exchanged more quickly and discussed easily :)

There is also <forum:Elftown, newbie questions> where you can ask about anything pertaining to the forums. If you're still having trouble then ask any of the Elftown council or Assembly members and they will be glad to help you.

2006-11-30 [dayah]: oh not a factor of it being hard to understand...don't see how it really could be...just irritating to navigate...ah well, no matter. just my own oppinion, so will be quiet since it doesn matter and don't want to cause trouble...was just curious on the matter.

2006-11-30 [Yuriona]: To join the contest, you join the forum. To join the forum you click the link. Once you've joined the forum, you can view the page. You are not obligated to participate on the forum even though it may be encouraged. It really isn't that difficult to do.
Frankly, my opinion on the matter is that anyone who complains about the forums is just too lazy to be bothered to learn how to use them and probably wouldn't have anything worthwhile to contribute to the contest due to that laziness. But that is merely my opinion and I certainly don't want to cause any trouble either. Any one who doesn't like my opinion is welcome to message me about it though and not clutter up this wiki with more complaints.

2006-11-30 [Sunrose]: I didn't dare to touch them until I had no other choice, now I can't do without them. The navigation is pretty excellent once you've figured out how it works, especially since you don't have to go look for new posts: Elftown shows you when there are any and even takes you there.
On a sidenote, contestwiki's usually aren't the best places to chat. They are watched by a couple of maintainers who usually are quite busy doing things, they tend to not have time digging through heaps of wikicomments to see if anything important was said :/

The underlined bits contradict each other. You are saying it has to be set in the past then that you can use the future. :P May I suggest that you instead say that it should be 'set' in a different time than our own?
Also 'exc' should be 'etc'.

2009-05-06 [Ravenclaw]: No, our commanding officer suffered a brain anurism (sp?) and a stroke shortly after the picture was taken. He's the one with the cannon and is in too pore health to participate in long distance reenactments.

I wish I could have found the one with the two gentelmen dressed as President Lincoln and General Stewart. Except for the powerlines in the background it was freakin awesome. They where standing on the battlefield shaking hands when I happened to walk by *snap*. I see the gentelmen dressed as Lincon every once in a while. He dresses up for Lincoln's birthday and visits all the local businesses in town during the Presidents Day sales. He's a tad excentric but in a loveable home grown kinda way.

But if I'm unable to participate that's cool, at least I got some good feedback for it!

I would imagine if you could convince the gentleman to pose for another photo with you (and a bowl lol) that could be might be enough of a proof photo for the contest. It is an amazing photo that's for sure. *nods*

2009-05-06 [Akane Ice]: How about this, Raven. Get your father to dress up again (since he is in the picture) and have him hold a bowl, and I will accept it. That way you can add the origional photo and I still have proof that it was your picture, will that work?
