By [Kuramasgirl]!

For the general rules see Elftown Creature Marathon#RULES!

Copied art is NOT permissible in Elftown's Official Contests. Please see: Copying vs Fanart & Referencing.

Exceptions might be offered if there is a valid reason for it. But, if you do submit more than one image, you will greatly lower your chance of winning, as the votes for your style will be spread out on two entries.

Note: For images larger than 500 pixels wide, you will need wikiprivs to upload these larger images to a wiki page.

Any entry that does not follow the "Gryphon theme", will be removed.

All mediums, excepting photography (and/or manipulations) and animations will be accepted.

When the finalists are posted in the Main Street Poll or on a public poll page, the participants are not allowed to beg for votes for their own entry. Do not ask people to vote for your entry via private messages, guestbook messages, moods, wikis, or by any other means. Your entry will be disqualified if you are caught doing so. It is perfectly fine to advertise THE POLL, however.

REMEMBER THE GOAL: We want the BEST QUALITY images to represent Elftown having the best Gryphon Page on the Internet as part of the Elftown Creature Marathon!

Aside from the regular rewards, as mentioned on Elftown Creature Marathon, the winner will receive credit for contributing to what we hope will be the best Gryphon-page on the entire Internet.

2009-08-13 [nehirwen]: It's logical cause Americans do it? O.o
I hope those eyes arrive in time! :o

2009-08-13 [Aeolynn]: Not logical, just it makes sense that we would assume that =P

2009-08-13 [iippo]: But most of the people here on ET aren't Americans. So ET does dates ET-style: year, month, day. It's the same system throughout the site. Look at the wiki-comment dates, the wiki info box, the date and time at the top right corner - 2009-08-13.

2009-08-13 [nehirwen]: I've changed them to ET-style now to avoid more confusion. :)

2009-08-13 [Ravenclaw]: That wasn't necessary just on us Yanks account, but it is kinda interesting that it spurred a discussion. I wasn't aware that the rest of the world did it that way.

Leave it up to we Americans to have stuff ass backwards from the rest of the world. lol

2009-08-13 [Aeolynn]: still not our fault! ><; I didn't choose to be born here lol

2009-08-13 [The Dizzy Raven]: Cool! I'm going to submit, if that's ok. I have to get working on it before the first of 10

2009-08-14 [Ravenclaw]: Most of my ancestors originated here so I guess I'll take the blame.

2009-08-15 [§pitfire]: Hmm... Just for the record as a Canadian I also type dates as Year-month-day... oddness.

2009-08-17 [MisLuck]: Is mixed media okay with this? I have made a pencil drawing and thinking of painting it and creating a background in photoshop. I rarely want to touch my pencil drawings and ruin them :D

2009-08-17 [Chimes]: Mixed media is fine. :)

2009-08-17 [Chimes]: Note to all: If you use references please note that you have with a link to the reference, also. :)

2009-08-18 [MisLuck]: What is reference in this? In photography it's quite clear but as you draw you do it yourself... Or do you mean if you take another picture and draw it exactly like that? I have looked help for the pose, and a tutorial for the wings. (The wing tutorial I will link) Do I put picture of the pose also?

2009-08-18 [Chimes]: I mean if you use another picture to help you draw - It's not so important if you can't really tell you used it but if you can then it's best to list it, just in case someone stumbles across the reference you used and thinks you traced it. It's more hassle than it's worth :P So it's best you mention it.

2009-08-18 [iippo]: It's also pretty interesting (from a fellow-artist point-of-view) to see what inspired and helped in making a piece of work :3

2009-08-18 [MisLuck]: If I could draw it perhaps would look more alike. :D
I haven't traced it and well, these two pictures doesen't really look related at all. I'll just add the wing tutorial link.

2009-08-25 [Ravenclaw]: Nice #11

2009-08-25 [Ravendust]: very neat, [The Dizzy Raven].

2009-08-25 [The Dizzy Raven]: Thanks bunches ^_^ *hugs*

Honestly, I like a lot of the art on here. Very creative, they are. hehe

2009-08-25 [FamousPanda]: What did you use [The Dizzy Raven]??

2009-08-26 [Ravenclaw]: lets not confuse Dust with Claw lol.
