hubby takes cat to EM vet! ILL CAT & SNOW STORM!!!

Cookiee~Cat is ill... his stomach is distended and painful to the touch.. he is vomiting and coughing and hiding behind furniture... not normal behaviour for him!!!

damn snow... its a frelling white out!
Ive shovelled twice already today... and it keeps snowing! and the damn stuff is half frozen and heavy as all shit! it sticks to the shovel when you try to toss it aside and I cant push more than a foot of the stuff!

its abit crazy here... Eirikr is trying to take down the house with his ball... he is stressed out as well... Cookiee is mainly his cat
Eirikr is 7... we had one of my cats die when he was 3... he was too young to understand than...

unfortunately Bill is having the vet put him down...

they want $1600 to have him stay over night and put a catheter in his bladder to drain it...

Ive been thru this with another cat before... at that time it was only $300 to do that... and yet it had to be done so often that I paid over $2000 on Thomas... and he still died...

its not something that you can just ignore... the cat will die a painful death in 12 hrs if nothing is done... and yet the vets want to drain us of our rent money to care for our pet!
*
he had UTD or UTI it mostly inflect young male cats... its not curable.. matter of fact vets dont know what causes it... but the treatments are very painful and expensive and its still always fatal...
*
the bladder blocks and gets inflected and without treatment the cat can die a painful death in 12 to 24 hrs
*
treatments include draining the bladder and removal of the penis.

I havent told Eirikr yet... he still thinks Cookiee is just stay overnight at the vet.

when Bill came home we told Eirikr... lots of crying... from all of us...

2008-02-07 [moira hawthorne]: I told Eirikr Cookiee is playing with Maya now... telling her about everything thats been going on in our family since she been gone... I didnt want him to suffer... I tried to cure Thomas and he got so I couldnt even leave the house without him stressing out so much being ill all the time.... he really was in alot of pain and I kept following all the things the vets kept doing to him... hoping he would get better!

Neko is 15 and Loki is 8 we expected either of them to be the next pet to die... not the youngest! We expected Cookiee to be about for 15 or more years!

2008-02-08 [moira hawthorne]: I was six when Rusty and Midnight died and I remember both! Rusty was at least 3 years old, he got run over on the hiway and Midnight was just 9 weeks old ..my dad stepped on him!

I remember how upset I was about Midnight... it happened after I was in bed.. but I woke up and went down in the basement to find him laying on newsprint... I didnt know why he couldnt move but I curled up with him ... and slept there the rest of the night.
