I wrote my poem to get people's attention about the importance of everyone that owns a pet to be sure they have it spayed or neutered. I'm including all of those, also, that have bought [ "purebreds" ]. Just because you bought yourself a purebred with papers [DOES NOT MEAN THAT YOU SHOULD BREED THAT ANIMAL!!!] Your purebred is still [99% likely to be "PET QUALITY"]. Breeders don't sell their "top" quality dogs, for e.g. to the general public!!!! The best specimens they keep to perpetuate the best of that breed. All others they sell & with papers. Good, responsible breeders usually have some sort of incentives towards spaying/neutering of the pet you buy!!!

Lonely, homeless pets,
If owners were [ responsible ]
And would see their vets.

Neutering and spaying
Is so [ little ] a cost
For saving the lives of [ MILLIONS ]
That are yearly lost!!!!

If YOU, as an owner,
Fail to neuter or spay,
[ YOU contribute DEATH ]
To THOUSANDS everyday!!

There aren't enough "good" homes
For all that's here right now,
By advocating more,
Destruction [ YOU ALLOW ]!!!!!

NO matter your excuse,
NO matter what your reason,
The bottom line's the same,
NO matter what the season!!

You say you "love" animals?
You say you "love" your pets?
THEN wake up and [ PROVE IT! ]
Take them to their vets!

Spay and / or neuter
With protection from disease.
Keep them properly groomed
And free from ticks and fleas.

If you love your pets,
Give responsible Love 'n' Care.
Be an ultimate benefit
For all pets --[ EVERYWHERE!!! ]

Pets don't judge or question
Or put us to a test.
They give loyalty and devotion.
They deserve our ROYAL best!!!!!

For all of you out there that take offence to my poem.......I have a suggestion----
----visit some shelters & see the poor animals, so sad & scared! The fate that awaits most of them [ IS DEATH!!! ] Purebreds [ ARE NOT EXEMPT ] from these forelorned pets!! How or why would [ANYBODY in a sane mind want to perPETuate this fate of doom??????]

Remember this and don't forget!
If you have little time to spare
To give them love and tender care
Then I suggest what you might do
Get a pet that's 'stuffed' for you
Along the lines of a teddy bear!

So...make sure you think the prospect of getting a pet
well through, before you actually do!
